It was a while later that Luke finally gave up and took a seat on one of the metal benches that faced the ice. That way he could still watch Skylar skate. Even though they had been there for a few hours, the thoughts that Luke had about Skylar being his wife still remained. And the simple thoughts made his cheeks an unmanly pink and he found himself not caring that blushing wasn't the manliest thing.
Skylar made him blush without doing anything. She could wink at him and his face would go up in heat. He found it weird how easy it was for her to get any kind of reaction out of him and he liked the fact that the one thing that made him so happy was going to be wife eventually. That is, if she says yes.
Luke looked down at his converse covered feet to shake the thoughts away. The thoughts that would eventually cause him to worry and would most likely drive him to maddness because the wait of her answer is like a cliffhanger. He refused to think about it in that moment, but he was so worried what she would say when he was on one knee in front of her and their friends and family. He knew that there was a huge possiblity of her saying yes, but he also knew that there was a possibility of her saying no. And it scared the shit out of him.
Luke changed his thoughts to his legs, which were thanking him for letting them relax instead of shaking to death on the ice and his toes were also relieved that they weren't being squeezed to death in those awful skates, which were now sitting there on the ground next to his feet.
He had fun skating, he really did but the pain that it conflicted on him made him rethink if he had fun or not. The few times that he fell convinced him that his body would be beaten up and bruised by the time of tomorrow. But of course he had fun because Skylar was there.
She still continued skating on the ice after Luke had sat down, but she lost speed. Her once, quick movements fell to a slow pace and it seemed as if she had not even advanced in the first place. Her face no longer read the thoughts of fun, but perhaps they read the thoughts of being tired and sickened.
It was soon that she too got off of the ice and walked with difficulty over to the bench that Luke was perched on. "I think the medichine is wearing off," she said and plopped down next to Luke.
"You're not feeling good again." It didn't sound like a question to either of them. Luke could see on her face that she didn't feel good and even though it wasn't a question, Skylar shook her head anyways.
It took no time for Luke to get onto the ground in front of the bench and start removing Skylar's skates for her. He figured that that was the least he could do for her at the moment. And when Skylar was rubbing her feet in relief from the release of the skates, Luke took the two pairs of skates that they wore and took them up to the desk.
Luke had originally planned to take her to Tasty Cakes next but he could tell by the look on her face that she was in no mood for cake, no matter how tasty it was. So instead of going to Tasty Cakes, Luke took her hand into his and took them both back to the hotel where he was planning on cuddling and relaxing for the last event of the night.

The hotel was quiet as the two of them walked through the halls and Skylar felt as if it was making it harder for her to keep it all in. She didn't want to be sick, she wanted to continue with this night like Luke had hoped. She didn't intend for the medicine to eventually faid.
"I'm sorry about this," she whispered to Luke, afraid that if she spoke too loud, her voice would be heard throughout the hotel.
"Sky, don't apologize. You're sick, you can't help it," he replied as he opened the door to their room. Luke grabbed her hand and led her in, closing the door behind them.
He gave a warming smile and kissed her quickly on the forehead before saying, "Go lay down." It wasn't a mean demand, it was just a sweet suggestion. Luke wanted nothing more than to have to his girlfriend feel better.
Skylar did what she was told as she made her way over to the bed; the soft sheets comforting and inviting. She eventually laid down after removing her shoes and pants, something that she found out that helped her relax during sickness.
Luke only chuckled as he watched her crawl into bed and shortly he said, "Why do you not wear pants, but still wear socks?" Skylar, in no mood to joke around, only shrugged and tried to focus on anything but her aching stomach.
Luke sighed at her silence and walked over to his bag in the far corner to get her a few more pills of medicine. "I'm just kidding, Sky. You know I find it cute - " Luke tried saying to make her feel a little bit better and to take away the tension, but his sentence was interupted by quick footsteps.
Skylar had jumped up from the matress and ran into the bathroom, too rushed to shut the door behind herself.
Luke had to blink his eyes his a couple of times because it was as if Skylar had gotten speed powers. Just a second ago she was sitting there on the ned, green in the face, and then the next second she was gone.
After Luke had realized that she ran into the bathroom to throw up, he was quick to follow her.
A few things Luke hated to see was Skylar sad, mad, or sick. And what he was seeing wasone sight that he hated most.
Her small frame was hunched the toilet, heeving to try and get any food out from her stomach. Luke came up behind her and bundled her hair into his large hand, whipsering sweet nothings to try and make her feel better.
He has seen Skylar throw up very few times, and even though it's rare for her to get sick, Luke hated seeing it. It made him feel awful because he couldn't do a single thing about it. It's not like he could fight away the virus as if he was her own white blood cell. All he could do was feed her medicine and soup and hope for the best.
