"What about the stone?" I heard Harry ask the headmaster yet another question.
Although Harry's questions were getting on my nerves a bit, this one intrigued me, so I turned my body slightly in order to bear better, however not too much to let them know I was eavesdropping.
"Relax, dear boy. The stone has been destroyed. My friend Nicholas and I have had a little chat, and agreed it was best all around."
Not caring about them noticing me anymore, I began to speak, "But then Flammel. He'll die won't he?"
There was a moment of silence while Dumbledore contemplated what to tell us, and what to keep to himself.
"He has enough elixir to set his affairs in order. But yes, he will die."
"How is it that Savannah got the stone sir? One minute she was staring in the mirror-"
This was the same question I had asked earlier, and I already knew the answer so I zoned out for a moment to really think about everything that had happened. I mean, now I knew I had living relatives that I had never met, although if we are going off what Harry has told me, they aren't very nice people.
Nevertheless, they were still family, at least the only ones I knew of. So I decided I would ask Harry to write a letter to them and see if it would be alright for me to stay with them over the summer.
I was snapped out of thought when I heard that name come out of Harry's mouth. Good job Madame Pomfrey wasn't here.
"Does that mean, with the stone gone that is, that Voldemort can never come back?" He asked, too innocent to know better.
"Ahh I'm afraid, there are ways in which he can return," Dumbledore admitted, Harry and I just glanced at each other with worry in our eyes.
"Do either of you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bear to have you touch him?" We both shook our heads, "It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you, and that kind of act leaves a mark. This kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin."
"What is it?" My brother enquired.
"Love, Harry. Love." Dumbledore smiled at both if us and patted Harry's hair gently, before standing to leave.
"Ah Berty Bott's every flavour beans. I was most unfortunate in my youth to come across a vomit flavoured one. Since then, I'm afraid, I've lost my liking for them. But I think, it could be safe with a nice toffee." He rummaged through the box until he found the flavour he was looking for, and popped it in his mouth.
"Hmmm, alas. Earwax."
Once he had left the wing, I began to chuckle along with Madame Pomfrey who had now returned and started stacking the shelves with supplies, using magic of course.
"You two best get dressed into your robes, you should be well and healthy enough for me to let you leave now. Savannah, I want you to keep using those crutches though." She smiled, handing us our uniform.
I nodded my head and closed the privacy curtains and began to change. It was so weird wearing my uniform after so long but I was glad to be able to go around the castle now. I still needed to speak to Harry and Mrs Weasley about staying with the Dursley's over the summer too.
Soon enough, I was changed and pulled my uncombed hair up into a messy bun. I looked in the mirror and realised that my cheeks were a bit rosier than usual, probably the excitement. I also noticed, that I had grown a bit taller. Still not quite as tall as the twins but I was definitely pushing 5ft 6 now, or maybe I was hopeful and I just wasn't used to seeing myself stood up. Who knows?
