The Secrets of Jane

Chapter 1

Haven't I told you that this is not just a normal story just like how you read others stories? Before we start let me tell you what happened first before the real story start.

Napaganda ng gabi. I can see billions of stars lighting up the sky. I can hear the songs of insects singing in melody. The trees dancing to the rhythm. The music of the flowing water.

I feel at peace in here, away from the chaotic world that I live in.

Habang dinadama ang awit sa paligid hinahalungkat ko ang mga pangyayaring maari ako'y nagkamali. Sa hindi ko alam kadahilanan bakit ang ama ko'y hindi ako gusto.

Many years have passed but still he hate me since my mother left us both. Palagi niya akong sinasaktan. Tinatrato niya akong parang baboy, na hindi isang tao't sariling anak.

Palagi niyang sinasabi na ako ang dahilan kung bakit iniwan kami ni Ina. I don't remember the reason why my mother left us, it just happened in a sudden. My mother was happy with me, I can still remember her smile when she look at me.

Before when we still together, we are happy, we play together. We have fun as a whole family but now I don't know why is this happening to me, to us.

When I'm at home, my father would just beat me up until I pass out.

He keep saying that I am the reason why mother abandoned him.

I did not know the truth.

I just wish this will be over soon.

I wish my mother will come back to us.

I hate seeing my father drinking day and night. He is ruining his life. He is in mess.

I am here freely tonight because my father is sleeping. I can get away when he passed out. No one knows what is happening inside our house. No one dare try to attempt to know about what is really happening.

Napakahirap din sa kaluuban na iwan ko siya. Parang pinapahiwatig ko rin sa kaniya na wala kaming pinagkaiba sa aking Ina.

Kahit na gaano kahirap. Kahit gaano kasakit. Kahit ilang hampas ang aking matatamo ngunit hinding-hindi ko iiwan ang aking ama'ng nagdurusa.

Biglag lumiwanag ang ilaw sa kwartu ni ama. Naging mabilis ang aking kilos papasok sa kabahayan baka ako ay mapapagalitan naman. Sa pinto sa likod ng aming bahay ako dumaan para hindi mahalata ni ama na ako'y lumabas.

Ngunit sa aking pagpasok iba ang aking nadatnan. May isang magandang babae na aking nakikita kausap ang aking ama. Tanaw ko sa aking kinatatayuan na masaya si ama kausap ang babae. Maganda siya pero hindi ko gusto ang kanyang aura, ang kanyang pananamit ay hindi kaaya-aya.

I can smell something fishy is going to happened, so I step out and called my father but before I can open my mouth again my father already send dagger looking at me. I can see that he doesn't like to see me. He has this threatening step, each step that he made send fear all over my body.

"You dare to show your face in front of my visitor? Who do you think you are, you useless child," he slapped me hard. My weak body fell on the floor. I can feel pain in my back but the mark of my father's hand is being drawn in my face.

"Get out of here. You don't belong in this house. You only reminds me of that  worthless mother of yours," my father's words hook in my chest.

How can he say that in front of me? I am his child. I came from his blood but why is he being like this. He even dare saying that in front of somebody.

I get up and run as fast as I could without looking back. I fell many times while stepping in the staircase but I manage to stand. I need to escape. I need to find a place where I can let go my feelings. I want to die right now. I need to find a place where I can finally get lost.

Crying out loud while walking without destination in this huge house. Tears that keeps falling in my face. Imagining my life if we are a whole family. Thinking what would happened if my mother is still here with us.

When can I see my self happy again? When can I see my face having a smile on it?

With so much in my mind, I don't know what happened next. The last time I remember I was approaching to a door that I haven't seen it before.
