Lucy's POV
Severus and I really did not want to be faced with the fact that he might actually have to do something that renders Dumbledore incapable of protecting Harry, so we completely avoided the topic for weeks. Him and I used to brew some potions during the day, while at night I kept on reading in the book that Dumbledore had given me to figure out more about my magic and how to use it.
One day an Owl delivered my exam results and I was pleased to see I got Outstanding in each subject except for Herbology, where I got Acceptable.
"I never really liked plants anyway." I giggled and put the results in front of Severus on the table who was eating breakfast.
"Very well done." He smiled "Your hard work certainly payed off."
He handed me back the paper and then pulled out a form of his own. "By the way, I won't be your potions teacher anymore next year. A different teacher is taking over, so I will be teaching defence against the dark arts."
"Dad that is amazing! You always wanted to teach that." I cheered and gave him a hug.
"How about to celebrate my exam results and you getting your dream job we could maybe go out for dinner?" I suggested and he seemed to like the idea.
That evening he actually wore a muggle suit and I put on a nice blouse and did my hair and makeup nicely, while Severus was waiting downstairs for me.
"Lucy, I have a little surprise for you." I heard Severus calling from downstairs. After putting on some red lipstick, which I rarely wore, I raced down the stairs and almost fell because of my heels but also because of how amazing my best friend looked.
"Jennie!" I ran over and pulled her tight.
"I sent her an owl this morning and invited her over to join us for dinner in the restaurant." Severus explained.
"I'm so happy to see you." I beamed at the girl. She wore a puffy white sleeved shirt with a black skirt and black heels to match. The belt she was wearing was all sparkly and definitely made of diamonds.
"You look great." I complimented as we walked out the door together.
"You do too, I love that shade of red on you." She said back with a wink.
Dinner was incredible to say the least. It was a really fancy restaurant and the fish I had tasted so good. Severus even allowed Jennie and I one glass of champagne each.
We kept the conversation light the whole evening, which I am sure Jennie also appreciated. We talked about our exam results and we almost had the same result except for her in Herbology she got an Exceeds Expectations and in care of magical creatures an acceptable.
Once we walked back to my place, I offered her to stay over for the night but with sad eyes she told me her father was expecting her back.
—-Time Skip-—
A few days before term begin, Fred and George had invited all of our friends to come visit their new shop they opened. Jennie was actually allowed to come this time, because she would also be shopping for school supplies at the same time.
The shop looked great. There was two stories and so many different prank items. There was one girl in the shop that kept staring at Ron and when he walked past her she looked like she was about to explode with excitement.
"Think that girl there has a little crush on you." Terence teased, but Ron just ignored him and we all left the store.
As we walked down the ally ,we saw that many shops had closed and some looked like a bomb had exploded in them or something. Death eaters must have been the cause for that.
"Draco and his mum are looking quite suspicious." Ron suddenly pointed out and we followed where his eyes were focused on Draco and Narcissa.
"Let's follow them, quietly." Harry said and we all snuck behind him and followed the pair.
We trailed behind them along Knockturn alley, until we saw them enter a store that was called 'Borgin & Burke'. I had no idea what this store was, but Harry and the others climbed up a ladder and onto a rooftop so we could spy on them better and see what they were up too. I really hope this didn't have to do with the plan involving Dumbledore, because then Draco would be busted.
It was some kind of cabinet that Draco seemed very interested in. Inside the store I saw many death eaters standing that I recognised and by the look on Jennies face, she did too.
"I wonder what Draco wants with that large wooden container." Terence whispered beside us.
