Lucy's POV
While still being bound to ropes, Hagrid was instructed to carry Harry back to Hogwarts so Voldemort could present his dead body to everyone. I knew what this meant. I would have to continue on being a death eater together with Severus and Jennie. It hurt knowing Harry and the good side had failed, but at least I still had my family and girlfriend. I hope she was still alive and also Terence, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, the twins...just everyone who was nice to me and cared for me. 'Please let them be okay.' I thought to myself as we approached Hogwarts in silence. The place was in ruins.
Once we arrived, all the death eaters and other followers of Voldemort gathered in one area looking pleased and smiling because of the victory for the dark side. Everyone else, students, staff and parents that were on Harry's side stood on the opposite end of the courtyard looking sad. Many were crying, I saw Hermione holding onto Ron while tears were running down their faces. Ginny screamed once she saw Harry's dead body.
"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort cheered while his followers laughed and clapped their hands in victory.
"Now come forward and join us." He gestured at the crowd of students. Now the days would begin where Lord Voldemort ruled the wizarding world, he will surely try and recruit new members that are still young and impressionable.
I caught Jennies attention, her brown eyes looked over at me sadly. I gave her a nod and she did the same, walking away from the crowd of students and first towards Voldemort, giving him a bow.
"Very good Jennie." He gave her a pat on the back and she hurried over to me. I hugged her body tight, not wanting to let go. I could feel her tears staining my shirt and I smoothed out her hair in an attempt to make her feel better. "I was so worried about you when he said you were captured." She whispered while sniffling.
"I was worried about you being here where all the fighting was happening." I whispered back and pulled her even closer.
We parted our embrace as we heard Draco's mom calling for her son who hesitantly walked over, gave Voldemort an awkward hug and then joined his parents. I really felt bad for him, what if Voldemort decided he would permanently reside at the Malfoy home?
"Jennie get back here." I suddenly heard someone calling. It was Terence. "Lucy, you too, what are you doing?" He rushed out from the crowd and was now standing in the middle of the courtyard in front of Voldemort.
"Silence boy." He hissed at Terence, who clearly was fighting before Harry died. His face and body had cuts all over, his clothes were torn and he was limping.
"No, my friends aren't evil!" He raised his voice even louder. "Lucy, Jennie. Come on get over here to the others."
"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort shot the spell at Terence. He fell to the ground, unmoving.
"No!" Cried Jennie out loud while running to the boy. I tried holding her back, but she threw herself on the ground before him and sobbed over his dead body. Two of our childhood friends had died today.
I saw the dark lord readying himself to send a spell at Jennie, but my protective instincts kicked in and I threw myself out in front of her and deflected it.
"What are you doing Lucy." He said to me, surprise evident in his voice.
"Don't hurt her." I demanded.
"I will do what I please, as your master I command you to step away and let me kill this girl who showed sympathy for a traitor." He held his wand in front of me again. No way I was going to move. I'd rather die than have Jennie be killed today as well.
"I said move!" He shot a spell my way, I deflected it.
All of a sudden I heard a roar come from the sky. I looked up as I watched the familiar black Dragon dive down and land on the ground in front of me, sending a flame at Voldemort. Shadow was protecting me.
Right in that second, something moved from where Hagrid was standing. It was Harry. He leaped out of the half-giants arms and shot a spell at Voldemort. He was alive, Harry was alive. Right in that moment I understood what had happened. Harry didn't die, only the Horcrux inside him did. Now all that was left was the snake. Hope was still there.
Voldemort was cornered. I had my wand drawn at him from one side, Shadow was next to me and Harry was behind him.
"I never took Severus daughter for a traitor." He said with a sneer, then shooting a fire spell at me which Shadow blocked with his body.
"Secure the Dragon, then let me kill the girl and the boy will finally die for certain!" He shouted demandingly at his death eaters. Many of them had already left once they saw Harry was actually alive, but the few that were left began shooting spells at my Dragon. One picked up a spear that must have belonged to some forest creature that fought in the battle and stabbed Shadow's side.
I screamed out in pain and fell to the ground. 'Oh no, I forgot about this type of connection' I remembered how if a dragon near me felt pain, so did I.
They kept firing spells at him when suddenly Voldemort yelled "Stop!"
I was on the ground, panting and clutching my sides that felt like I was just hit by a car with. "I think we have discovered Miss Snape's weakness." He grinned manically.
He made a chain fly out of his wand and around Shadows front and back legs so he couldn't move, then one around his mouth to stop him from breathing fire.
"Stab him again." He commanded the death eater who smashed the spear into my dragons back. I crashed to the floor in pain while Jennie tried helping me up, but someone from the order pulled her back. It was Remus.
Voldemort shot the killing curse their way, I wanted to move and stop it but Shadow kept being kicked and stabbed so all I could do was scream on the ground. I watched it not hit Jennie, but Lupin instead.
Tears were running down my face, partly because of the excruciating pain but also because I just watched Lupin die.
"You figured it out didn't you?!" I spat at Voldemort while trying not to vomit from the pain. "Draco was the one that disarmed Dumbledore the night of his death. Harry took Draco's wand from him which means that Harry is the true master of the wand."
"You never stood a chance to kill him! Only the part of your soul inside of the boy." I tried my best to form a grin.
"You are wrong girl, the Elder wand is different than any other old wand. Whoever kills its previous owner is the true master of the wand." He retorted with a demented smile. "I will become the true master of this wand soon and then will finish off the boy for good."
No.
That means he would want to kill Severus.
I wanted to jump up and follow him while he made his way in the direction of what seemed to be the shrieking shack, when I felt another stabbing pain as the spear was rammed into Shadow's back. Why was Severus there anyway? Did he know he was going to die? I couldn't let that happen, but I also couldn't get up and leave here until Shadow was freed.
