Chapter 38

Lucy's POV

That night back at the common room I finally saw Terence again. Jennie and I ran up to him and without a word pulled him in for a hug.

"I knew you would come back." He smiled down at us. "It's been hell here, the Carrows keep torturing students during lessons."

"So you believe us? That we are on your side?" Jennie whispered and Terence nodded. "I never doubted you two."

We pulled him into our room so we could have more privacy. As we were about to fill him in on what was happening, we got an announcement that we need to all gather in the great hall.

Sighing, I put my robes back on and followed suit as everyone marched out of the room and up the stairs in some kind of soldier formation.

"Snape likes order around here." Terence whispered to us from one row behind. As we entered the hall, everyone stood in one corner together with members of their houses in the same formation as we had while walking. I was at the very edge of the group of Slytherins and spotted my father together with the Carrows standing at the front.

"The reason I have summoned you at this hour is because it has come to my attention that earlier this evening, Harry Potter was sighted in Hogsmeade." He spoke to the crowd. Gasps were heard from all around. Harry was already here, which meant whatever plan Voldemort had for me would unfold soon enough.

"Should anyone attempt to aid Mr. Potter, they will be punished." My fathers voice echoed through the hall. From where I stood, I saw a very distant look in his eyes. It was the same as the one he had during the summer while he was trying to push his emotions down. It must be a horrible feeling, to keep up this act for such a long time and have everyone who once trusted you, hate you.

My father began walking down the path that was created by the groups of students standing on either side of the hall, scanning the area. His and my eyes connected for a second, it looked like they softened a bit, but then returning to stone cold obsidian.

All of a sudden from across the room, Harry walked out and stood a few meters away from my father in the middle of the room. The gasps were even louder this time.

"It seems you have a lack in security, professor." Harry said, taking a step towards my dad. Suddenly the doors to the great hall opened, revealing the order.

Sirius and Remus were at the front, they definitely saw me looking at them. I wasn't sure if they knew yet that I had switched sides, but I guess sooner or later they would be seeing me betraying everyone once again. 'What does Voldemort have planned for me?' I kept thinking.

"How dare you stand where he stood." Harry spat at Severus. I knew he was referring to Dumbledore. "Tell them how you looked him in the eye and killed him! You killed a man who trusted you."

Even though I knew my dad was secretly on Harry's side, I still wanted to jump out protectively in front of him and give him a hug. All this time Severus had been at Hogwarts and was wrongfully the most hated man there, hearing those kind of insults being thrown at him really hurt.

Severus drew his wand in an attempt to stop Harry, I knew he wouldn't send any spells at him though. The hurt was evident in his eyes.

Before Harry could do anything, Mcgonagall stepped in front of him and shot a spell at my father. All the students rushed to the side of the room, but I still stood frozen in my spot. I looked behind me, seeing Jennie and Terence trying to get me to move away.

The order also drew their wands at Severus, some of them were on me too. Still, I just stood there and did nothing.

Mcgonagall sent spell after spell my fathers way, he just deflected them all instead of fighting back. I knew he didn't want to fight her. He deflected one of the spells at the Carrows, causing them to be blasted against the wall and get knocked out.

"Coward." Mcgonagall said, temporarily stopping her fighting.

My Dad looked over to me, then ran towards me and grabbed me by my arm and dragged me to the front of the room. 'This must be part of the plan somehow' I was thinking.

"Let go of her right now!" Harry shouted, but he was being held back by Sirius.

"You have no right to be her father, don't you see how much hurt you have caused her by forcing her to become a death eater." That one must have really stung for my father, because technically it was true.

He glanced at me, then taking off in unsupported flight while not letting me go. As we crashed through the window, he used his body as a shield so I wouldn't go through the glass. I let go and began flying myself next to him.

We landed somewhere deep in the forbidden forest. He instantly pulled me in for a hug. "Are you okay?"

I looked up at him and nodded.

"This was part of the dark lords plan, he didn't tell me much. Just that I should get you out of Hogwarts in front of Harry and we should return to him." Severus explained.

"Let's go then." I sighed, wishing I could spend more time with my father. Before we began walking towards where Voldemort and the death eaters would be, he pulled me aside.

"I can't stress enough how much I wished I didn't have to drag you into this." He said, his whole cold exterior had completely faded.

"I know dad, but tonight is the night where everything changes. The end is near, I can feel it." I couldn't help myself and wrapped my arms around his cloak. I missed him so much and for this short moment we could finally hug again and be away from everyone.

That moment didn't last long though, we began to hurry towards where the dark lord would be.

Once he spotted me, a sly grin appeared on his face. "Good work Severus, I assume the boy saw you capture her?"

"Everything went according to plan, my lord." My father answered.

Voldemort pulled out Dumbledore's wand and all of a sudden I could hear his voice in my head.

"Harry Potter." He said in a whispered tone. There was a pause as an even wider grin appeared on his face.

"I know that many of you want to fight." He continued. "Give me Harry Potter, and no wizard blood will be spilled. Harry Potter, I have captured your sister. If you do not come within one hour I will have her killed."

That was it. That must have been his plan. He wants Harry to come and get himself killed so I could be saved.
