Lucy's POV
Severus had to leave again shortly after our encounter. But it filled me with a new found hope. Hearing him talking about how one day this will all be over with gave me motivation to finally perfect those special techniques and then search for Harry.
I told Jennie about how I saw Severus and she told me how she was glad Harry had the sword of Gryffindor now to help with destroying those Horcruxes.
The next morning, with new motivation and hope I worked on my magic.
This one technique was especially tricky. It was to create a forcefield of sorts that could protect me from damage. I had to be able to wield both my shadow and light magic at the same time and needed to be able to do so with only my mind. I had read that a kind of telekinesis was part of my powers once I successfully mediated strongly enough. I thought back to the day I meditated in the classroom and was able to make myself float with just my mind.
I channeled that energy and stared at a large rock that was laying at the lakeside. Like I had been able to for the past weeks, I made it float in the air with just my mind. This was really physically exhausting, but I had to keep my concentration. I let the rock fall again and then made a shadow flame appear with my hand, threw it out in front of me like an attack and stopped it mid-air with my mind. It actually worked!
I was able to move this flame from side to side easily, but whenever it left my field of vision and I looked back, it disappeared.
I did the same with my light magic, this one was less of a flame but more like a bright light, similar to the one of a patronus. With the light magic I had less issues circling it around my body while standing still in one area.
I channeled my shadow magic once again, this time picturing how it would circle together with the light. I watched as the black flame began moving away from my body and merged with the white light, creating a kind of grey.
Some sparks were sprinkling out of the grey matter and I started letting white light and black flames erupt in my hands and feed this grey. It became stronger and stronger by the second, also growing in size.
It was about a meter away from my body now, so I assumed people could probably be inside of the forcefield with me and I could protect them like this. The only downside was it drained my energy a lot, so I had to let it fall after only about a minute.
"Lucy you did it, now there is only one secret technique left and you are done!" I heard Jennie cheering from the sidelines, she must have just returned from her sprint around the forest.
"This last one is even trickier, each time I try it an explosion forms in my hands and I go flying." I sighed as she jogged towards me.
I pulled up my shirt and revealed many bruises that were purple and green all over my ribs "Got these from smashing against a tree because of it."
She gently ran her fingers along my injury. I saw her mutter a spell under her breath and they began to fade.
I shot her a smile to thank her and then asked her to step back so I could attempt it again.
I first put my right hand behind me and with my left foot forward and my right back, I leaned to the back and had a black flame appear. This time I had an idea.
Instead of fusing shadow and light together like usually, I placed my left hand inside the flame and then made a ball of light appear within the shadow magic.
It actually worked.
I saw how behind me a sort of vertical tornado began forming as I fed it more and more shadow and light magic. It wasn't grey like the forcefield was, this time the two colours stayed separate from each other and spun around without mixing into grey. I felt a strong wind around my body and this mass amount of energy caused the ground below me to vibrate.
Now all that was left for me was to put my right foot in front and basically throw my hands out in front of me to make the tornado of energy hit my invisible target.
I felt like I was slowly being sucked into my own creation, but I managed to throw it out in front of me. A loud scream escaped my mouth as I did so, considering how much strength it took.
I watched as the tornado removed itself from my hands and created an insanely large crater in the area in front of me. It knocked over every single tree in sight.
"Woah." Jennie gasped. I didn't even have the strength to look at her, all my energy was drained.
I fell to my knees and tried catching my breath. I felt an arm snake around my shoulder and a kiss being placed on the top of my head.
"That was incredible." She whispered to me.
While supporting myself on her, I managed to stand up again. But right in that moment a group of snatchers appeared in front of us.
"What do you want here?" I snapped, remembering that I needed to act tough. If they told the dark lord I was too nice to them, he might view me as inferior to them.
"We caught Potter and his friends, our dark lord will be pleased. They are being kept at Malfoy Manor in the cellar." One of then smirked.
"Well done, we will apparate there this instant." Jennie announced and within milliseconds, we were in front of the mansion.
"The dark lord isn't here yet, but when he will be you better not take the credit for us snatching him." The head snatcher growled and I just glared back in his direction.
I was still very weak, so hopefully no fighting was to happen soon.
"There's my favourite girl, come see for yourself who we captured." I heard a familiar voice cheer. It was Bellatrix, she had her signature manic grin and looked very pleased to see me. I never knew why she took such a strong liking to me, but she did. I guess it can come in handy.
"I also taught that Mudblood a lesson." She grinned as I approached the woman. I shot her a smirk, trying to pretend I was happy about their actions. But on the inside I was freaking out, was Hermione okay? Was she even still alive?
Then I spotted her.
She was on the floor, face covered in tears and trembling. Her arm had something carved into it which I couldn't quite make out from here. I didn't want to step any closer, if I did I might blow my cover.
I felt Jennie gently rubbing my back while nobody watched. She must have been just as worried as I was.
Then Bellatrix approached us two.
"Go on down as see for yourself, Draco couldn't identify if it was really Potter but I am certain it is. The dark lord will be here soon and very pleased." She said to us. "I'm going to interrogate that Goblin over there while you do."
