A/N I can't believe this is the very end of this story. The epilogue is quite long and has many time skips, it basically encapsulates all important things that happen in the years after the battle of Hogwarts. I hope you enjoy :)
Lucy's POV
The day where the battle of Hogwarts had ended I mostly spent in the hut, together with Severus talking about future plans. I knew Jennie was still at Hogwarts, so at nightfall when I made sure Severus was sleeping, I commanded the girl Dragon to keep watch while I apparated to the castle that was my school for the past seven years. It was a wreck, walls collapsed, rubble everywhere and some parts of the premises were completely destroyed. I carefully waked into the great hall, watching as parents, siblings, friends and lovers were still mourning about the loss of their loved ones. I didn't find any of my friends here, they must have already left. But there was only one girl I was looking for tonight.
I could identify her familiar midnight black hair from a mile away, together with that gorgeous smile of hers.
"Lucy!" She called out, sprinting towards me as if we hadn't seen each other in years. I took her hands in mine and gave them a squeeze "Let's go home."
With one last glance back at the school, we apparated to the hut.
I couldn't seem to sleep and neither could Jennie. We sat outside, huddled in a blanket and she filled me in on everything that happened and she found out about while I was gone. Harry destroyed the Elder wand, part of me understood but another part was frustrated. It was the strongest wand after all.
Then she recounted everyone that had died. Her father was one of them which she told me she was glad for, now she would inherit his fortune. My heart hurt as I heard the names of order members being listed one by one. Lupin, Tonks, Fred, I just couldn't believe they were actually gone. Thankfully Sirius had survived the night, Jennie told me Harry would go to live with him for a while.
I really would miss my friends, but I think it was best to leave everyone for a while. Maybe even a long time. Multiple betrayals had taken place and even though word would probably come out about our true allegiance to the order, the three of us still didn't feel like we were part of them the way they all were. They were good people from the start, never tempted by dark forces. We were just three Slytherins that had once worked for the darkest wizard. I knew someday we would return to everyone again, hoping they would understand our actions.
—- Time Skip -—
The next moth went by in a flash. We stayed a few more days at the hut to make sure Severus was fully healed up and my strength had returned. I only ever managed to do that special technique once before I did it while fighting the dark lord, so it completely drained my energy. Plus I was also tortured by them hurting Shadow right in front of me.
With the large amount of money that Jennie inherited from her dead father, she bought us a nice three story house in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish highlands. I loved it here and so did everyone else, especially the Dragons. We were really high up and there were strong winds, this was great for them to fly.
Severus looked the most relaxed I had ever seen him, spending most of his days indoors reading, making potions or watching TV. Jennie managed to convince him to buy one. He was really hesitant at first, but now watching nightly dramas had become a sort of ritual for him which was so funny but also sweet to see.
Jennie and I spent a lot of our time going for walks in nature with a dog we adopted. Her bunny Pearl had died two summers ago, but I was curious if Panther was still alive. I remembered leaving him at Spinners end when I left for the undercover training with Jennie and a house elf was taking care of him. I was happy to see he was still alive and well when I visited one night. I came to collect some of mine and Severus things we wanted to move to our new home and brought the little black cat with me too.
