"Meredith's going to kill me for this." I lightly chuckled, taking the coffee Addison was offering from her and both of us started walking towards the hospital together. "Hanging out with her ex-boyfriend's secret wife isn't going to  win me the sister of the year award."

"Don't call me his secret wife, it was not my fault he forgot to mention he was married for the entirety of their relationship." it was clear Addison was nowhere near forgetting any of the events leading up to her and Derek getting back together, and I shouldn't remind her of it, even though I'm Meredith's sister and I must be a walking reminder of it.

"How is she doing, anyway?" the redhead's tone softened and her face of betrayal was replaced by a kind smile. How is she even real?

"I don't know how you do it." I turned away from her with a scoff, how can a person be this nice to someone who is the villain in their story?

"What?" Addison shrugged. "She is still a person who got mixed in something she never thought she would be in." the woman was right, my sister did not choose any of this.

"In that case, Meredith's holding together somehow, she's strong, too strong for her own good, she'll get better." I wore a proud grin on my face as we entered the hospital, turning right and making our way over to the attending changing rooms.

"Changing the subject, I was wondering if you'd like to join me on a surgical case today?" Addison put down her bag and pulled off her coat. "It's a big one."

I started changing too. "I heard, four babies!" my eyes widened in excitement for Addison, knowing that a case this big is going to get attention.

"It's going to be a full house and I need a female neurosurgeon present." the redhead explained, pulling up her dark blue scrub pants.

"Anything you need!" I smiled and nodded my head at her, making her do the same.

"See you later, Malia!"

After changing into scrubs, I decided to check on my patients in the recovery unit. Just as I was ending my conversation with an older lady whose aneurysm I had taken out two days prior, Cristina paged me to the hospital lobby.

Saying my goodbyes, I left the unit and walked towards the lobby where Cristina rushed to get me, a weird expression on her face.
