"I'm expecting you at dinner, Malia!" Izzie's voice rang through the whole house as I was making an escape through the doors.

Today was Thanksgiving, something I have never celebrated before, not really at least. George's family came by earlier, dragging the poor, youngest O'Malley by the feet out of the door to go turkey hunting, it was a tradition for them.

"Shit," I muttered, shutting my eyes and regretting not jumping through my bedroom window to avoid Izzie. "I will try my hardest to be there!" I was telling an obvious lie, but Izzie being overly excited for the holiday did not seem to notice.

"Great!" the blonde flashed me a big, happy smile and started waving. "Have a nice trip, Malia, you deserve it!" were the last words I heard Izzie say before I went out the doors and sat in the taxi waiting outside for me.

"Airport."

I was in Virginia, walking through a random park where I was supposed to meet two people. Mostly I was scared, but there was a hint of excitement and curiosity lingering in my mind.

It didn't take long to spot an older woman with grey hair and bad posture strolling through the park with a child.

"Are you the Grey person?!" she yelled through the crowd, angrily pushing the child to where I was, most likely understanding that I was Malia Grey by the way I looked like I didn't belong here, at least that's what I would like to think, that I don't belong in Virginia anymore.

I slowly nodded my head, my eyes wandering from the furious gray lady and the noticeably upset child she was pushing ahead.

"Good." the woman basically threw the child at me, along with a bag,  likely consisting of baby things. "Take her, do whatever, my daughter is exhausted enough from this devil child." and with those words she just left, limping away as fast as she could.

"Hey, Scarlett!" I kneeled in front of the child, flashing the most sympathetic smile to the little lady. "Remember me, we've met before, I was the first person to hold you when you were born." the brown-headed princess just kept blinking at me, like she was listening and understanding what I was telling her, but she did not have any words on her.

"Do you want to go for a walk?" I tried once again and got some sort of answer since Scarlett nodded her little head. "Is it okay if I hold your hand?" I reached for her terribly small hands and she once again nodded. Thoughts flooded through me as I looked at her weak, fragile body, her mother was not feeding her enough if at all.
