AN: not me changing the title of this book for the 3rd time :) also I cannot stop listening to drivers license!! Anyways here is chapter 6...
A whole month went by as Lorenzo and I spent a lot of time together, in detention. It wasn't awkward for some reason, probably because there was nothing to be awkward about. That night in the kitchen was just two friends- no. We're not even friends we're just acquaintances. Two acquaintances hanging out.
The days were always the same: Lorenzo and I stuck in detention, resulting in him fooling around, therefore him getting even more detentions.
It was day 30, which much to my content, was the last day of detention. We were currently sitting in a fairly large room, decorated with pink silk and paintings of kittens.
Unbridge is a strange lady. It was our first day in her office, they had just finished it. So, no more library.
"Welcome to my office! I am most content with the way it turned out, aren't you?" Dolores giggled and we all just nodded our heads as we sat in front of her desk. It was just some other kids and I.
No Lorenzo.
Her eyes scanned the room for a moment before turning her attention towards me. "Mrs. Mae, do you happen to know where Mr. Berkshire is?" She pondered and I shook my head.
"No ma'am, he might just be a little late." I answered as sweetly as I could. My hatred for this woman growing stronger as each giggle escaped her mouth. "Alright then, I guess we'll just have to do without him."
"Now today, you will not be sorting files or reading. Today, you will be writing down all the things that you've done wrong. More specifically, why you deserve to be here." She turned to her desk and handed us a piece of parchment.
"After you are finished, that's when you can leave." As soon as the words left her mouth, sighs of relief emitted through the room.
"Now, I want a minimum of 1000 words." She giggled. Well shit.
Everyone sighed and began pulling out their quills. But, she stopped us short. "Oh no, there will be no use for your quills, today you are using some of my special quills." She said and I raised an eyebrow.
She passed them out and I examined them, they seemed fine. I shrugged my shoulders and began writing. An itchy feeling starting to grow on my arm.
That itchiness turned into pain as I kept writing. "What on earth?" I mumbled to myself. I look at my arm to see blood trickling out. The words 'I am here because' scribbled on my arms. A small gasp escaped my lips as I look around the room to see others having the same reaction. Then I turned my attention to the woman and stared at her in disbelief.
"Is there something wrong Mrs. Mae?" She asked me and I wanted to say something, I really did. But, no words were coming out. "Uh- no no everything's fine."
I continued writing, trying to ignore the small stinging from the quill. I couldn't wait to leave. What a great way to spend the last day of detention.
Then two thoughts formed in my head. One being, how on bloody earth am I supposed to fit a 1000 word essay on my arm and two being, Lorenzo isn't here. Lucky bastard missed this. I wonder what he's up to.
...
I handed in my essay and quickly left, tears dwelling in my eyes. I look at my arm that had scribbles all over it. Each stroke of the quill forming another swatch on my arm. It was now covered.
