Aayla took a long sip of her third drink since she's been sitting in this restaurant while peering around followed by a quick glance at the time on her phone. She had been sitting in this spot for at least thirty minutes and she began to get restless and impatient. She just knew this was a bad idea but she wanted to test it out, she wanted to have the benefit of the doubt but she should've just trusted her gut and intuition because she just ended up wasting her time anyway.

She inhaled sharply before standing up and pulling on her jacket and grabbing her now empty cup, then headed over to the counter, approaching her father-in-law with a deep scowl. "This all you getting?" He asked, watching her as she reached into her purse. She nodded, grabbing a ten-dollar bill and holding it out to him.

"Seems as though I was stood up." She replied, as he shook his head and pushed the money back towards her.

"By Ichirou?" He asked, ignoring the money as she tried to hand it to him again. When she realized he wasn't taking it, she placed it into the tip jar and adjusted her purse on her shoulder, shaking her head.

"No, Ichirou is out of town for the week. I was supposed to be meeting my father." Xing's eyes widened in shock. He didn't know much about Aayla's family outside of Triniti, but what he did know was that she didn't really have a relationship with them besides her grandmother. Xing is almost positive that he's heard something about her grandmother but he's not too sure.

"Oh?"

"Yup, I just knew this was going to be a waste of my time." She sighed. "I could've been making money."

"It's Saturday. No work on the weekends." Xing scolded. "You and Bili are just alike. Always wanna work. Take a break. Live a little on weekends."

"You have some nerve, Mr. Xing. Last I checked, you're still working today too."

"I don't work every day this week, young woman." Aayla playfully narrowed her eyes at him before smirking.

"Mhmm, whatever you say."

"Ask Bili, she will tell you the same."

"Okay, Mr. Xing. I will." Aayla teased, glancing at her watch before sighing. "I'm going to be on my way now. I'll see you later."

"Okay. Be safe out there, Aayla."

"I will." Aayla exited the restaurant shortly after, digging through her purse for her keys blindly while trying to make sure she wouldn't bump into anyone who was walking along the sidewalk with her. But she couldn't seem to find the keys so as she neared her car, she stepped off to the side to continue to dig through her purse, until she found what she was looking for. She hummed proudly before making her way to the opposite side of her car, unlocking the door and she was just about to get in when she heard her name being called. Looking up, she saw her father rushing in her direction, his face flushed and scrunched up in what seemed like concentration and frustration all at once.
