"Alright, Ms. Richards. How are you today?" the doctor asked as she finally made eye contact with the eager Aayla. It was finally happening, she was finally seeing an OB and it was definitely a long time coming. The last time Aayla left the pod — which was two weeks ago — they had her do a couple more tests to make sure she was pregnant — as they don't want to have inmates doing unnecessary trips outside of the jail for safety reasons — and once those tests came back positive, they scheduled her an appointment at the hospital which was only a few miles away from the jail and now here she is. Sitting in the hospital room with a guard, the doctor, and a nurse, all for her.

"I'm okay, how are you?" Aayla said. Truth is, she was excited, beyond excited. This is the first chance she was getting to hear her baby's heartbeat and maybe even be able to see him or her. Even though things were under some odd circumstances, no one was going to take away her joy.

"I'm good, thank you for asking." The doctor smiled gently. "Now I hear that you are expecting. Congratulations." Aayla smiled back. "Let's take a listen and look-see, shall we." Aayla laid back on the exam table and it didn't take long before the doctor moved into her eyesight again with that same gentle smile. "Now I'm going to put some gel onto your stomach to help the doppler move freely. It's going to be cool." Aayla nodded and it was only a couple of seconds before she felt the gel then soon after that, the doppler, and then the room went silent.

Aayla held her breath waiting for some sort of confirmation. Whether it would be the heartbeat or the doctor saying it saw the baby. The longer they were in silence, the more anxious Aayla got, and the nurse as well. Tears started to form in Aayla's eyes after a minute of silence but soon a light thumping sound filled the room and it wasn't her sobbing.

"There it is." the doctor said lightheartedly.

"Is that," Aayla started but the doctor didn't allow her to finish before she continued.

"That's your baby's heartbeat." The doctor pinpointed before typing a couple of things onto the computer and then pointing at the screen. "And this, right here." Aayla looked over to the screen. "Is your baby."

"Nami, can you pass me the salt please?" Ichirou asked politely. Namiko, though obviously she heard her brother seeing as though he was seated directly next to her, decided instead to busy herself and dish more things onto her plate. Ichirou huffed, looking to his mother who was watching her children slightly confused yet amused.

They were currently sitting at a family dinner, one of which Namiko didn't want to come to because she was pissed at her brother. But her parents left her no other choice but to come. And if she had to come, she didn't have to be cordial and she wasn't going to be. So, she was going to ignore him.

"Namiko?" Bili called out to her daughter. She looked up at her. "Did you hear your brother? He asked you to pass the salt."

"Yes ma'am, I heard him." She said before turning her attention back to her food.
