Chapter Seven

A week has passed since the incident at the Jasmine Dragon.  Since then Aang and his new group of friends have become closer. But for Katara it seems to be the exact opposite. She has been distant to everyone including her family. She goes to school, does her work, goes to cheerleading practice then goes home. Yue has seen her behavior and blames herself. Haru on the other hand is still mad at Sokka believing he's the reason why Katara isn't officially his girlfriend.

Katara was at the schools library trying to finish up some work.  She was the second highest student in the class behind some kid named "Ong"or something like that. She wanted to finish first in her class so she was working extra hard this year.  She felt a tap on her shoulder and saw Jet standing behind her.

She rolled her eyes "What do you want can't you see I'm busy."

"Is that any way to treat me,love" he said with a smirk.

Inwardly throwing up she said "First of all I'm not your Love. Second I never will be and Third leave me alone" she got up and pushed him out her way.

"You'll come around and see what you're missing out on" he yelled at her vanishing figure.

On the other side of the school, Aang and his group were sitting outside at a table.

"Why are you doing work right now Twinkle Toes"

Aang chuckled at his nickname "I want to keep my spot in the class rankings."

"What spot is that?"Zuko questioned.

"First" Aang answered nonchalantly.

This answer made the groups eyes go wide.

"You're first" Zuko asked.

Aang raised his eyebrow "Yeaaaa"

Zuko couldn't believe it "How "

Aang was about to answer until he was cutoff by Toph.

"I'll tell you how he always has his face in a book. Have you ever felt a women's touch?"

Everyone laughed at this even Aang knowing she was just joking.

So he shot a response of his own back "I've felt as many women as you have seen people."

Everyone burst out laughing again even Mai was laughing.

"Nice one Twinkle Toes" she said while punching his arm.

"Ms Tide could you please meet after class to discuss something"her teacher said.

So after class Katara stayed. She was trying to think what this was about and then she realized. Maybe she moved up in the rankings. She didn't even know this "Ong" kid but she disliked him. Whenever she thought she was going to get ahead he always found away to be one step further.

"So Ms Tide as you know you're are ranked second in the class." This made Katara excited finally, she was able to move up that one spot.

"But you're failing a class as of right now" Everything stopped for Katara.

"WHAT!?!" She couldn't believe it, she never even had gotten a B before let alone an F.

"Now, you still have an opportunity to change this and keep your spot but I suggest tutoring." Those words almost made Katara faint. She didn't need any bodies help she could do this on her own.

"No it's fine I can bring the grade up by myself."she was trying everything to not have tutoring.

"I'm sorry Ms. Tide but this is mandatory. Trust me it's for the best. The person tutoring you is very intelligent and he would help you a lot."

Finally taking a deep breath Katara calmed down "Ok who is he ?"

"His name is Aang" Katara eyes widen and she almost screamed but bit her tongue.

She faked a smile "Ok do you have any way to contact him."

"Well he should be in the study lounge, I would suggest for you to go talk to him."

With a nod she thanked the teacher faking her smile all the way through. Finally getting out of the classroom she stomped to the study lounge.

Aang was sitting and trying to finish an assignment but couldn't concentrate. His mind kept on going to Katara, he knew he had a crush on her but seeing her on a date made his gut burn like it never has before. Of course he found her beautiful but being in class with her and seeing how she works really made his crush for her to go deeper.

Katara had finally made it to the study lounge. She opened the door but Aang didn't notice due to him playing music through his AirPods

All of a sudden Aang came face to face with the girl who has been on his mind all day. He told himself to play it cool.

He ended being scared and falling out of his seat.

"Oh my are you okay?" Katara said while helping him up.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's ok I should've been calmer" he said while chuckling.

She giggled and Aang thought that was a win in his book.

Katara got a good look at the guy in front of her and thought to herself  "Woah he's really cute he must be new because he's easily the cutest guy in school" realizing what she thought she blushed. Luckily for her, he didn't seem to notice as he bent down to pick up the stuff he dropped.

"Have you seen a guy named Ong by any chance?"she asked with a little anger in her voice due to her thinking about her unknown enemy.

He looked at her confusedly "Um no?"

She groaned "My teacher told me he would be in here. Wait actually his name is Aang."

Aang eyes went wide "Um that would be me" he said sheepishly while rubbing the back of his neck.

Katara's face went from surprised to angry "Wait you're my tutor, well let me get one thing straight you might think you're better then me but I going to prove you wrong and take your spot."

Katara stormed out leaving a stunned Aang.

"What did I do wrong" he groaned while slapping his palm to his forehead.
