The boy I never knew

My heart fluttered when I saw you. It was like the warm blanket of something akin to happiness and content wrapping around me.

I kept staring at you, unable to avert my eyes away from you.

You were so beautiful that day. Even though your hair were messy and a frown laced your soft features.

However, soon I averted my eyes back to the grey elevator doors.

I glanced at my old rusty watch and realised only seconds had passed since I started staring at you and somehow that random smile that bloomed on your face became one of my favourite.

Just like you it was beautiful too. And once again I wish I could keep on staring.

I could have started a random conversation with you. Maybe you would have continued or maybe not. Either way I could still have a piece of you with me.

But I kept quiet that day. Too nervous and scared to make the first move.

And then the lift stopped and you got off. I contemplated going after you but that would be too ridiculous right?  We didn't even know each other.

So I stayed there and watched you fade away in the crowd.

All that was left was your smile and the name Minho written on your badge.

The lift stopped once and a lady came in. I smiled at her politely. That smile that day felt weird.

Maybe it was bit dim. But then I shook myself internally. Smiling for real this time.

It was okay if I only had your smile and name. I would keep you as my small secret that's not even a secret in my heart.

The boy I wanted to get to know and all his smiles but I never did.

A/N: this is just a product of me being sad and wanting to disappear.
