Me:How could I not? Ichiban is just so damn likable. He is best boy. I mean, yes he's an ex-yakuza, but unlike hardasses like Kiryu and Majima, he's just the nicest and goofiest guy you'd ever meet.
Onyx:Plus he's an RPG nerd. And that's always a bonus.
Amethyst:Well let's play it then!

Me:Word of advice: Set the voices to Japanese. They just don't sound right in English..
Steven:Especially the Karaoke...
Me:So what do you guys think?
Amethyst:Well while I like Kiryu, Ichiban is a worthy successor. And honestly? The fact that he's just such a light hearted goofball makes him a bit more relatable than Kiryu.
Me:As a longtime fan of the Dragon of Dojima, I have to agree. But really, both of them are great protagonists in their own way.
Pearl:Ichiban also cares a lot for his friends.
Lapis:Although his kindness is likely his greatest flaw.
Steven:Yeahhh....while I like Ichiban, I do have to say that he's WAY too nice for his own good. I mean, Namba admitted to using him for selfish reasons and even with all of that, Ichiban forgave him way too quick.
Pearl:*smiles* Steven, I'm tempted to say something about the Pot and the Kettle, but instead I'll just say Ichiban gets serious when he needs to be.
Steven:Huh? What do you mean? Ah nevermind. Yeah, the attacks that Ichiban and his party do are INSANE...
Onyx:Likely because battles in the game are literally Ichiban's RPG delusions. Where his teammates likely just see common thugs, he sees mythical monsters or warlocks or other crazy stuff.
Me:Which adds to the originality of the game. How did this lose to FF7 Remake?!?
Onyx:Jeremy. This is the same Game Awards that gave The Last of Us 2 Game of The Year.
Me:Point taken. Anyway, in terms of characters, let's look at both heroes and villains. So starting with Ichiban's friends, who is your favorite and least favorite?
Amethyst:Saeko is my favorite. My least favorite is Namba.
Pearl:My favorite was Saeko as well. Least favorite is a tie between Adachi and Namba.
Garnet:Same with me. I liked Saeko the most. Namba was a traitor. Regardless of his reason, he should have been honest.
Me:True. Namba had no excuse for what he did. He knew what kind of person Ichiban was and knew he would have helped him if he asked.
Lapis:And the way he treated him even AFTER was just wrong. He literally asked Ichiban to pretty much go against his good nature.
Peridot:Saeko was my favorite. I hated that clod Namba.
Me:Damn. Everyone hates Namba. Well how about Villans?
Steven:Bleach Japan. Particularly Kume. That guy just got under my skin so badly.
