The next few hours you spend in a comatose state, unable to stop thinking about how Tom was acting earlier. It was so confusing, one minute he couldn't look at you, the next he was holding on to you and staring at your lips. He had already explained why he compared you to a sister, but the fact that that was the first thing that sprung to mind when introducing you had to mean something. As much as this was all very confusing, one thing wasn't: you had cuddled with Tom and watched the sunrise. No matter what was going on in his head at the moment, no matter how this turned out, you at least had that. And my god was it romantic.
Up until this moment, you hadn't told anyone about your secret meetings with him. They felt personal, private, it just felt wrong telling people. But now you were in a bit of a crisis as the amount of mixed signals you were getting from him were off the charts. So, you call the one person that will tell it to you exactly how it is.
                              "He wants to fuck you"
"Iris!" you shout, your face flushing instantly.
You'd asked Iris round to yours instead of a public area, just in case someone over-heard who you were talking about, a re-run of the girls chasing you wasn't exactly high on your to-do list.
"What!? No-one just stares at you like that and flirts the amount that you're describing unless they want to fuck. Or they're just really weird." she states, very matter-of-factly, taking another sip of her tea.
"We barely know each other, and he's Tom bloody Hiddleston for God's sake, why would he flirt with me?"
"Yeah to be completely honest the part that's shocking me the most out of all of this is that you didn't tell me this was happening. You've been meeting up with the man we both continually swoon over together and you didn't tell me!"
You explain to her what feels like the millionth time that it didn't feel right to talk about but that you needed help now, hence you breaking your silence about the subject. Iris understands this of course, but still takes great pleasure in teasing you regardless.
"There is always the possibility that you've just been getting confused." You look at Iris with a mix of confusion and shock that she would suggest something like that.
"I'm just saying-" she continues "-he's maybe just being friendly but because you're head over heels with him you've been picking up signals that just aren't there"
It crushes your heart to hear it said out loud. Of course that was a possibility but it couldn't be true. You didn't want it to be, he had to be flirting, he called you pretty, and cuddled with you and he- he just was!
"No, you're wrong, I can't explain it but it's just the way he looks at me and talks to me, there's something there, there has to be."
Iris gives you a look similar to that a mother would give their child saying they've found the love of their life when they're 12 and sighs.
"Alright, I'm not going to stand in the way of anything, just please be careful" she pleads, her eyes piercing straight into your own.
"I always am" you reply with a smile, hoping to calm her down a bit. "But anyways, has that waitress called you yet??"
A soft pink glow comes to Iris's cheeks as she bites back a smirk and looks away from you.
"She HAS OMG! Tell me everything, now."
The pair of you talk for hours, covering every topic under the sun, until it reaches the afternoon. As much as you'd love to stay and chat, you figured it would be a good idea to have another look for jobs near by. You'd quit your job as a make-up artist a few weeks back as all the work you were getting was doing hair and make-up for brides, which was fine, but all the looks were very similar so it tended to get quite boring.
