The door swung open and your heart stopped.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry, wrong door, um, have a good evening though!"

The little old woman stood in her doorway looked beyond confused but was thankfully very understandable once you'd explained. You trot down the stairs from her door and check your phone again. One off, could've been worse. So yet again, you awkwardly walk down the road until you reach the house next door. You mentally cross your fingers and knock again, hoping and praying that this is the one because there's no way in hell you were about to knock on every door.

Thankfully, your prayers are answered.

The door is opened swiftly and you're pulled inside before you can register who was there and the door is shut behind you. Tom grins at you sheepishly with his hand still resting on you waist.

"Sorry about that, I don't want anyone walking by to see where I live that's all" He explains, which to be fair, does make sense.

"Oh no worries, it's OK, I'm used to being dragged about like that" you reply with a smirk.

Tom steps back a little, taking his hand off of your waist and slides it down your arm until he's gently holding your hand in his. He looks you up and down and holds your hand up to get you to spin for him. His eyes linger a bit on your legs, sitting at the hem of your dress before looking back up at you.

"Well don't you look breath-taking" he flirts, pulling you in for a quick peck on the cheek before taking the wine from your hand and wandering off to the kitchen.

"I hope this was for tonight and I didn't just steal this from you" he calls out from just round the corner.

"Well now that you mention it actually, I just like to have a spare bottle of something on me at all times but I didn't want to say anything" you joke, following closely behind him into a reasonably spaced out kitchen with an island in the middle, the cupboard doors all a matching shade of deep red and all the counters a matching dark wooden look. You take a seat at one of the stools at the island and watch as Tom takes the opportunity to open the bottle with his sleeves rolled up, showing off his arms. As much as it was an obvious, cheeky grab at attention, you couldn't admit that it didn't work, the shirt he was wearing was a deep, rich navy one that, when the light hit it right, had dark green undertones which had been paired with black trousers and a pair of plain black shoes to top it off. Simple, but he could definitely pull it off.

Tom took out two glasses and poured you and himself a glass of wine before taking a seat at the island with you.

"Everything's ready, we just need to wait for the main to finish cooking off and then we'll be all set" he explains to you

"Oh is that what the smell is? I didn't take you for a cook Hiddleston" you tease, sipping your wine slowly. You could handle your drink... alright, but considering you hadn't eaten yet and you didn't know each other properly, getting tipsy here and now didn't seem like the best idea.

The pair of you chat, figuring out more about each other. You tell him about how you had gone to the wrong door originally which resulted in him nearly choking on his wine as he laughed at the same time as taking a sip. The two of you laugh and chat for around a half hour, exchanging anecdotes about your childhoods, first jobs, more up to date news...

The tone shifts slightly as you decide to tell him that two people know about you two seeing each other. You didn't want to ruin the night, but it felt wrong not telling him.

"It's just my closest friend and her new girl-friend" you explain "I tell Iris everything and would trust her with my life so that was why I trusted Kyra, I get it though if you don't feel comfortable with people knowing-"
