As we wait for Snape to get to class the students being a conversation about the Yule Ball. Plenty of people already have dates and are boasting about them. I don't need to bring any attention to my love life so I stay humble throughout the discussion.
"I asked Ginny Weasley." Neville proudly announces. I can feel the tension coming from Ron immediately. He states Neville down and starts whispering stuff to Harry, I will not stand for anyone bullying Neville so I do what any decent human being would do and make a fool out of Ron.
"Ron, before worrying about your little sister why don't you get yourself a date. Word has it Hermione's taken, but it's not like she would go with someone as ill-mannered as you, she's mature. Face it, Neville's got better game than you and Ginny's just better than you." I sneer. His eyes widen and he looks to Harry to say something, who is helpless. The rest of the class laughs at the duos expense.
"Oh yeah, well I bet you don't have a date yet." Ron assumes stupidity.
I laugh to myself a little "Oh I have a date Ronald, don't you worry." I say.
"You're lying." Harry accuses.
"No I'm not, just wait for the ball." I reassure. I don't need anybody's validation, I just like to make people look like fools. So it really doesn't matter if they believe me right now. What does matter is the look on their face when they see me with Cedric.
All of the fun is sucked out of the room once Snape enters. He tells us to go get the supplies for the potion on page 412. I notice that we have already done this before but I don't want to learn anything new so I keep quiet.
I sat with Neville today, so we'll be partners. I go over to get the ingredients, right as I'm about to pick up a beaker Harry takes the one I was going for.
"What's your problem? Did I take too much of your confidence just now?" I ask while grinning.
"No." He snaps.
"Sure." I say sarcastically.
I'm usually angry with him for some reason but today I have extra reason to be. He tried to turn Dean and Seamus against me by convincing them I was obnoxious. I don't know what else he said after that but I can't believe he would stoop so low as to try and make sure I don't have friends. I guess I do believe it, coming from him at least. But it still infuriates me so I step on his foot making him drop his beaker.
"Potter... Clean that up. Now." Snape says in his most passive aggressive manner.
Harry gives me a glare which I return with a fake smile.

Hermione is dragging me along with her to the library once again. She's got to get some new books for a class or something and she doesn't want to go alone.
She knows exactly where she's going since she knows the library like the back of her hand. Once she's found the spot she begins reading the spine of each book.
I take a book out of its spot and read the back cover, it's something about the history of plants. All of these books are informative, in other words boring. As I'm putting it back, definitely in the wrong spot, I see two boys on the other side of the shelf. It looks like it could be Harry and Ron but I can't tell that well. Hermione's wandered off to another area to collect more books.
"How did we end up being the only two without dates?" Harry groans.
"I don't know mate, it's not fair. Even Kennedy Wood got a date." Ron complains.
"She's bluffing." Harry responds sounding too sure of himself.
"I don't know, it's definitely possible." Ron counterclaims.
"I mean sure, she's a pretty girl but she's quite unpleasant to be around." Harry points out.
Well that's a confidence booster and a half. Even the person that hates me the most can admit that I'm visually appealing.
"Yeah you've got a point there." Ron agrees.
I can't take anymore of them talking about me like I'm some object so I take a chunk of books out of the shelf, making a hole large enough for them to notice and bend down to the height of my head.
"You two are pathetic." I hiss before stuffing the books back and waking around the large wood bookcase to face them fully. "Is this the best you can do with your time? Spend it fantasizing about me?" I ask cockily while crossing my arms.
"Clean your ears out dimwit, I was insulting you." Harry interjects.
"I didn't know the word 'pretty' recently got a new connotation." I grin.
Ron looks at Harry for what to say but he's got nothing either. Instead they try and walk by me without answering.
"You would think being a Tri Wizard champion would make you attractive enough to have a girl fancy you, but I guess your personality just ruins any chance of that." I jab.
"Says the one who's constantly overshadowed by her brother to the point where nobody even knows your personality apart from being the quidditch captains baby sister." Harry retaliates.
I feel my throat start to close and my eyes begin to fill with liquid. I bit my lip to stop myself from letting out any shaky breaths.
Both of their facial expressions soften once they see how I've reacted.
I don't think anybody from school, except for Hermione has ever seen me cry before.
"I think the Patil twins are still free." I mention as I turn around so they can't see my face burning red of embarrassment.
Just because he's been on the quidditch team for the past four years, Harry knows about my situation with people overlooking me. He also knows that it's wrong to use it against me.
"I'm sorry, Kennedy." Harry apologizes.
"No it's fine. I wouldn't expect much less from you." I say bitterly, my voice giving that fact that I'm crying away even more.
"No, it was wrong of me." He tries to turn me around by my shoulder but I push him away.
He sighs, sounding hurt almost even though he's the one who just acted like a complete arse.
I don't bother finding Hermione before leaving to go back to our room.
