After mine and Harry's argument, the night quickly went downhill. Next thing I know it, Ron was insulting Hermione for going with Krum and then she was crying and it was all just stupid. They were both inconsiderate arseholes.
I really didn't regret telling Harry that I hated him as much as I thought I would. It's been like how things were before this year. He hasn't changed a bit, I thought maybe he had matured up a little but no.
I dread going to any classes with him. I sit next him or only a few seats away from him in every class I have in common with him.
"Wood, a moment in my office please." I hear Professor McGonagle call out.
I figure I'm in trouble but I have no idea what for. "I didn't do anything professor." I defend.
"You aren't in trouble." She reassures as she guides me to her office.
Once I enter I see Hermione, Ron, and a girl I don't know sitting in the chairs. I try and shoot Hermione a look to ask what's going on but she looks just as confused as me.

My eyes shoot open as I gasp for air. The last thing I remember is Professor McGonagall insisting on me and the other students in her office taking a candy from the small glass bowl on her desk.
As I look around I notice the crowd of students and professors and feel my face turn a little pink.
"Are you alright?" Cedric asks sounding out of breath. I blink a few times while he helps me over to the ladder. "Second task." He pants.
Now it makes sense.
Seamus and Dean were at the ladder, each of them grab one of my arms to help me up since I'm so numb that I can't do it myself.
"Somebody get a towel." Cedric shouts. I assume it's for him but when a beauxbatons girl brings a light fluffy towel over he wraps it around my body then rubs my shoulders vigorously in attempt to warm me. It gives me a sense of comfort and warmth that is the emotion type rather than the physical.
"Kennedy that was wicked, are you alright?" Seamus shouts at me over the crowd.
"Yeah, where are the other champions?" I ask. I see Fleur and Ced but not Victor or Harry. They both look at the water. "Oh" My heart sinks a little. "Well how much longer do they have." I ask.
"Well Cedric saved you pretty fast so they've got at least another 35 to 40 minutes." Dean explains. That reminds me that I have barley spoken to Cedric since we got out of the water. I go over to his large group of friends who are all patting him on the back and congratulating him.
"I almost forgot to thank you." I say.
"You think I would've just let you drown?" He asks lightly.
I shake my head and laugh a little.
"I'm assuming you got second place since Fleur's already done." I say.
"No she got pulled out, the merpeople got to her." He corrects. "Her little sister is down there still." He says looking into the water.
Someone hugs me tightly from behind and I immediately recognize their grasp from ever since we were kids.
"They should've asked permission before doing that. It's wrong to say the least! Illegal even." Oliver rants.
Once he lets me go he sticks his hand out to Cedric. He hesitantly shakes it. "Thanks mate. You aren't as bad as I thought I guess." Oliver admits to him.
Cedric gives him his classic smile and head nod, as he does when he doesn't know what to say.
"Well I think my friends are waiting for me over there so I'll see you later." I say trying to remove myself from the awkward situation by walking over to Seamus and Dean.
———————————————
I have to restrain myself from checking the clock every five seconds. I'm only disappointed each time when there's less time than before. It's been about ten minutes since Krum has gotten Hermione. Now it's just Harry, there's plenty of students leaned over the edge to try and see him but there's been no sight of him since I've been out of the water.
"What if the merpeople got em?" Seamus asks.
"Don't say that." Dean cuts in while rubbing my shoulders in attempt to warm me up. I think I'm showing how nervous I really am a little too much for my liking. Either that or I'm shivering too obnoxiously.
"What's that?" Somebody shouts from behind us.
Everyone goes up to the edge. I immediately recognize the red hair on once of the people but I can't quite make out who the other person is. Lots of chatter begins about the possibilities.
"It's Harry and Ron!"
"No it's not."
"It could be a mermaid!"
"Shut up Seamus."
"No, no, look I think I see glasses it is Harry!"
"But Harry doesn't have long blonde hair..."
As expected, Ron's head pops up along with another girl. It must be Fleur's sister by the way she runs over and helps her out of the water.
There's still no sign of Harry though.
"He was only allowed one." A girl mutters next to me. It's almost as if she read my mind, I turn to her and insist her to go on. "Since he saved two they're probably going to need a sacrifice, which would be him. So he traded himself for one of them." She explains.
I get a horrible feeling in my stomach as I realize that the last thing I said to him, was that I hated him.
"Well the professors can't allow that." I whine as my face comes into a worried expression.
She shrugs and looks away, while putting her hand in her coat pockets, clearly looking uncomfortable.
Seamen's hits my shoulder and points into the water.
It's clearly Harry but he's struggling quite a bit to get his head above the water and keep it there. He's able to weakly reach one hand onto the ladder while plenty of people rush over to help him. Dean and Seamus begins to walk over but I grab Dean's arm to hold him back while ripping my towel off leavening me feeling bare, while the light breeze sends shivers through my body.
"Give this to Harry, and don't say it's from me." I insist. He nods and takes it from me while I see a crowd form around Harry who hates the attention.
Usually he would be very stiff but he's so exhausted he sits on the dock and hugs his knees while students wrap towels around him and congratulate him.
