Chapter 3

In Childe's POV

Waking up, the sun wasn't even up yet. 5:30AM. That was what my clock read. I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. After getting ready for the day, I walked over to my closet and picked out a gray hoodie and black tank top, along with some black basketball shorts to wear to run in. Taking my water bottle from the fridge and grabbing my earbuds and phone, I exited my apartment to start my daily run.

It was around 6:45 or so when I returned to the comfort of my home. As soon as i popped off my earbuds and placed them and my phone on my bed, I trudged my way back into the bathroom.. Taking off my hoodie and shirt, my hands glided over scars from previous battles back from Fatui University. One day... I'll surpass everyone in that school. Taking off the rest of my clothes, I then hopped into the shower; the fresh, cold water engulfing my sweaty figure.

After my shower, I dried my hair briefly with my towel before walking out of the bathroom from hearing my phone ring. I quickly wrapped the towel around my waist before grabbing my phone. Who could've been calling me at seven in the morning? On a Saturday, no less. Looking at the collar ID, it read "Mom." Did she want to talk about something? Picking it up, an unexpecting yet familiar voice came through.

"Big brother!! You answered!"

Teucer.

"What are you doing with Mom's phone?" I asked playfully, now sitting down on my bed.

"I wanted to look up photos of Mr. Cyclops, but then I remembered that you live in a part of Liyue where there's an entire museum dedicated to Old Liyue!"

"And what does that have to do with me?"

"Well, I asked Mommy if I could go spend the weekend with you, and she said yes! She said that she would be dropping me off later today at your apartment."

"W-what?"

"Mmhmm! I gotta go now though cause Mommy needs her phone to call some people at her workplace."

"Hold on a second-"

And like that, Teucer hung up on me.

Spending the weekend with me?! I adored my kid brother, I did, but why didn't that woman tell me before hand?! I didn't have anything prepared for Teucer... not to mention everything I would have to clean up... and hide some things as well. I didn't want him knowing that I once attended Fatui Uni.

I quickly threw on a wine red t-shirt and some gray sweatpants before starting to clean up my apartment. Papers, books, some trash, and clothes were scattered around the place; I'm kinda glad no one comes to visit me... I kinda lived in a pigsty.

Around 9AM, I heard a knock on my door. Answering it, Teucer was there along with his backpack.

"Where's mom?" I asked, crouching down to look at my kid brother at eye level.

"She had to go to work and so she just told me to go up to your apartment."

"I see... So, are you ready for your big weekend of fun with your big brother?"

"Mmhmm!" exclaimed Teucer as he put his hands on his hips.

"First off, how about you put your things in the spare bedroom and join me in the kitchen for some breakfast?"

"Okay!"
