In Y/n's POV

Rushing down the stairs, too impatient to wait for the elevator, I saw Childe waiting outside just like he said he was. He was adorned in a simple wine red shirt and gray jacket over it, along with black jeans and tennis shoes. A black face mask was around his chin, most likely because it was chilly at this time of evening. At first glance, you could even mistake him for some idol.

"What'd you wanna talk about?" I asked, catching my breath as I walked up to the ginger.

"I wanted to talk about last night... If you don't mind," answered Childe as he looked up from his phone.

"W-what? Why?"

"Because we were interrupted... were we not?"

"Well, yes, we were, but—"

"Why didn't you kiss me?" blurted out the ginger.

"W-w-what!?" I exclaimed, taken aback by how blunt he was.

"Was it because of that phone call? And even if it was— why didn't you kiss me at all last night? We were together, alone, all night in my room."

"We were doing work, Childe..."

"You could've said, 'fuck it' and could've just taken me right on my desk!"

"Childe... we're in public..."

"Fine. Then we're going up to your place to talk it out," he said as he grabbed my arm to drag me back up to my shared apartment with Xiao.

"But what about Xiao?"

"I hope he's a heavy sleeper, 'cause we're going to talk things out for a bit."

Well, at least I knew Childe was good at communicating.

When we got back to my room, Childe leaned against my desk, while I sat on my bed cross-legged.

"Well..." he started.

"Well what?"

"If Xiao didn't call you, or if you didn't remember about our stupid homework assignment...  what would've happened?"

"We would've... kissed..."

"And?"

"And? What do you mean, 'and'? Teucer was there— I was not about to fuck someone with a child in the next room."

"Fair enough— wait so if Teucer hadn't been with us last night... you would've..."

"Don't get your hopes up, horndog."

"Then stop teasing me, (Y/n)," grunted Childe as he stepped closer to me, his face only mere centimeters away from my own again.

"I'll tease you as long as I want to," I said, looking back and forth between his eyes and lips.

"Are we about to kiss right now?"

"Can you use chopsticks?"

"N-no...?"

"There's your answer," I chuckled out, gently slapping his right cheek before pushing him aside to get to the front door. "I believe it's time for you to go, Mr. Fatui."

"What?"

"It's late, and I want to get some sleep before we start another long week of school and work."

After saying our goodbyes to one another, Childe, eventually, left my shared apartment.

The next morning, everything was the same. I got up, got ready for the day, ate breakfast with Xiao and then went to class. It was quite boring, really. The professor was just asking for everyone to turn in their reports and then started her lecture as usual. Although, it would've been the same as always if it weren't for a certain red head. He kept texting me stupid (cute) messages every so often during class or even shot me lame looks from across the room. I, of course, just rolled my eyes at him before he could see the blush rushing up to my cheeks.
