I cuddled into the blanket once more before praying my fajr and cuddling back in. Once again when I woke up, I felt my knees hurting a lot, as if I placed a lot of weight on them. Ever get that feeling? Well I'm a mother. A mother.. I remind myself. And my delivery was only around more than two weeks ago, so pain will be part of my daily lifestyle. The pain increases until Amir wakes up, asks me what's wrong, and I answer truthfully. "Want to check out at the doctors'? " he asked, pulling the blanket in place.
"No, it's okay, I'll tell you when I think it's a lot," I reply. He nods reluctantly and slips out of bed, hearing Inaya crying loudly, and brings her to our room. Amir demands to have breakfast in bed, spoiling me as always, and so Mina also brings breakfast to bed in a colourful tray lined with fruits, many types of croissants and breads with jam, hash browns and beef bacon strips as well as fried eggs and omelette. Don't forget Amir's ever so black steaming coffee and my warm, milky tea.
"Jazakallah," I tell her, and she nods back at me shyly, smiling feebly and she leaves the room. After eating the pain is better. Alhamdullilah.
I curl up beside my husband, happy and taking advantage of the weekend and the fact that he doesn't have to go to work. "Wanna watch a movie?" He asks, kissing the corner of my lip sweetly as his hair falls into his eyes. He's shirtless, and his defined and toned torso is such a sight that watching a movie would be very hard for me.
"Sure," I reply simply, nevertheless, and sweep a lock of hair out of his eyes as he slips out of bed to his drawer full of CDS.
"Which one? I've got Final Destination, all the Mission Impossibles, Fast and Furious 6, Indiana Jones, a couple of the James Bond like the new one, oh, and, for some reason, Big Hero Six-" he rummages through his drawer.
"Oh, let's watch Big Hero Six!" I interrupt him childishly. He looks up at me, shocked and amused all the same with an eyebrow raised.
"I got that for my little niece long ago because I was obviously forced into babysitting her. I don't think you'd want to watch such a kiddy movie." He chuckles, and I furrow my eyebrows. "Plus, you've probably watched it before."
"But I haven't. And I want to." His eyes bug out of his head and his eyebrows raise so high they disappear into his hairline.
"Well then, if you say so." He chuckles, sticking the movie into the DVD player. He looks back at me.
"Annie, are you actually serious? I've watched Fast and Furious so many times that it's boring to watch it now because I know all of the cast and the lines, but, i'd rather watch it than this baby movie." He shakes his head, laughing again. Annoyance and amusement laces his tone.
"You know what? Fine. If it's that bad, let's watch it and see." I demand, angry now with him. I don't care if he thinks it's childish. If I want to watch it, I will. I've sacrificed already so much for this man, and now, it's time I get something I really want. It's made my temper so short.
"Fine." He rolls his eyes and joins me on the bed, paging Mina from his bedside table for popcorn from his machine in the kitchen. She ran into the room no less than five minutes later, delivered the popcorn and the movie started.
I always get so engrossed in movies that when they're over, I feel like I was a part of them and have those same vibes, like once, I was watching Hunger Games with Aleena Bhabi, and afterwards, I got all action packed and started running all over the place and kicking doors open and aiming with a fake bow and arrow of Anas's, despite the fact that this was around a year ago.
