My mind racks back to the weird things that have been happening these past days. I can't place my finger on the solution. I sigh and slip on the new warm shirt I got with a seriously elegant and long woollen cardigan and jeans, plus the combat boots I have. The outfit covered me up a lot, and I topped it off with my long black jacket.
After taking my cream coloured purse along, which was huge and my ideal casual purse.it had baby supplies as well, since I was too lazy to carry another baby bag.We got the bouncers and asher and Inaya slept soundly in them. Auntie wandered close to Wardas room, and I frowned. What is going on? I ignored it and then heard 'give it to me! Stop!' From someone. I didn't what to eavesdrop but again the whispers rose.
I quickly fled down the stairs, while Amir was already down with the kids. I smiled at him with my glossy one, and applied some makeup in the washroom.
Soon everyone is down, and wardas hair is in a bun with her hat covering it, and her flushed expression shows things. But she hides them. "Let's go?" Amir ushered and we all end up in our car.
"Where do you want to go?" Amir asked. Adem thought for a second, while auntie was looking out the window with an expressionless face. Straight face, blank eyes. It scared me.
"Should I list a few things? Why's everyone so quiet?" Amir asked, making a left turn straight into the parking lot of Tim Hortons. He parked and turned around. I did too.
"We aren't," auntie started but Amir cut off. "Sure you aren't. Come on, enjoy this moment. When you look back you won't find memories but empty silences. Just make this a time to remember."
"Sorry, Amir," Warda agreed slowly, smiling again. That same smile that took up her whole face. "We should know better. You can list some things, yes, that would certainly help."
"Alright.. Hmm well there's playdium, some movie theatres I know of.. It depends where you want to go. "
"Yeah. Do you guys want to eat somewhere? Or watch a movie? " I added, and Amir thankfully glanced at me. I realized he didn't like anyone much older than him, since he thought they were boring. I could tell he was swearing in his mind, typical bad boys.
"Uh.. Hmm.. Playdium sounds best," Adem told us, running a hand through his hair.
"It's a place where you can go cart ride, there's games and it's mostly pretty much for all ages. There's also food there, so why not?" Amir agreed. Warda was back to looking bluntly out the window. Auntie had lost interest as well.
"How about you guys?" Amir asked, his tone annoyed and urgent, ushering towards Warda and auntie. I could literally imagine the smoke coming out of his ears. He wasn't much patient. I heard a few curse words under his breath. He seriously didn't like relative's company, especially Auntie. He thought of it as a waste of time.
"Uh, sorry." Warda snapped out of her daze and smiled a bit. "Yeah, I guess that's fine."
"Just fine?" Amir snapped, his voice oozing with sarcasm. I made eye contact with him, telling him to be nicer. That's what it was with us. We could talk with our eyes, but right now, he was glaring at me.
"No no, I think it's good." Warda replied, shifting uneasily. I smiled apologetically.
"Yeah, let's go." Auntie told us before gritting her teeth at something, then she smiled a bit. What the heck is going on?
Amir didn't say a word as he drove there. I sighed inwardly, and laid my head on the window. The cold air was closer that way. It made me feel good.
