"Amir! What the f*ck is wrong with you?!" I scream, just as he whips around, detaching his lip's from the blonde's."Annie? Shit! What're you doing here?!" Amir yells back, pulling the white sheets up to himself because he is, in fact, naked.
"Have you forgotten this is my house too? Or at least will be in four days?"
"No, I haven't cause I dread that thought every single day." He rolls his eyes as if what he was just doing wasn't cheating.
"Are you crazy? You're literally cheating. On. Me. Our wedding is in four days. Four days, Amir Khan!" I scream at the top of my lungs, and he scowls at me. The blonde in the bed is pretty much fully clothed except for her top, so I can only guess it was her pleasing him. What a surprise.
"How can I cheat on you when we're not even anything? What am I cheating on?" He counters. This makes me angrier. He's the one doing the wrong thing, he's the one in bed with someone else four days before our wedding, and I'm getting questioned right now?!
"If you haven't forgotten, unfortunately, I have to get married to your stupid *ss in four days. So I would appreciate if we kept this act on as you mentioned yesterday and that includes not having sex with other people!" As I yell at him, the blonde scampers out of the room, past me, and down the stairs with her bag and shoes in her hands. I scowl. Poor girl. She's being played. Probably didn't even know the guy she was about to sleep with was engaged.
"But that marriage doesn't mean anything to me." Amir bluntly snaps back, shrugging his shoulders.
"I wish I could say the same. But it means something to my dad and therefore it means something to me. It's important to me." I try to explain myself to him.
"So what? I don't care. It's not one but important to me and is just a whole big *ss inconvenience and waste of time." He says, rubbing his temples.
"Amir. Please try to understand. Do you really think I care about you? Do you really think I'm dying to spend the rest of my life with you? No. But at least for a couple of months until Baba's heart condition becomes better, until he can be stronger and take the shock of us splitting up. And I know that doesn't concern you one bit because you seem to hate my guts, but it's better for us both. At least a year. Please. Without giving it a proper shot, which is at least a year, how can you prove to your parents that a divorce is necessary? You can't. And so we both need to cooperate with each other." I explain, and for the first time, Amir Khan actually listens to me, furrowing his eyebrows. He knows I'm correct.
"Ugh. I f*cking hate this!" He groans, shoving his head into his hands and pacing back and forth. Finally, he looks up at me, admitting defeat.
"Fine. But only because this is the only option left for me. Otherwise I have no intentions on helping you. Never did, never will." Amir mumbles, rolling his eyes.
"I'm aware of that, Amir." My calm response makes him shoot his head up from his hands to meet my eyes. His blue orbs are filled with confusion. Why am I acting so calm all of a sudden?
"Y-You are?" He murmurs, confused.
"Well, you haven't really kept your desire to strangle me a secret." It's my turn to roll my eyes, and the next thing that happens makes the air leave my lungs and my heart stop pumping and my eyes stop rolling and everything everything everything stops. The world stops.
Because he laughs.
Amir Khan literally laughs at my joke.
It's like no other laugh. His throaty, hearty laugh fills the atmosphere, his blue eyes glinting, his face scrunching up in the most beautiful way possible. The world seems to stop right where it is as he flashes his white pearls at me. I stop breathing for a split second.
