It was another day at the emperor's coven...until it wasn't.

When Lilith was announced that she committed treason against emperor Belos the coven was a mess. Some were questioning if what the Emperor's best witch did was right while others looked at this like it was an opportunity. An opportunity to climb the ranks, be the new face of the emperor's coven.

-

"Hunter I don't think you have to worry"

You stayed sat on the ground with your arms crossed. Ever since the announcement of a new replacement for Lilith has been made, many of the guards tried to claim the title by fighting the obvious candidate to the spot. Hunter. Shamelessly he accepted every challenge and swept the floor easily, yet he was getting slightly worried if he was doing the right thing.

"What if emperor Belos thinks I'm showing off too much ? Or that I'm wasting my time ?"

You just had to roll your eyes, earning another annoyed sigh from Hunter.

"Like i said, you could just ignore their offers and be on your way. It's pretty obvious that you're going to be the candidate for the emperor's coven"

You were speaking what everyone knew, that Hunter gets special treatment from Belos. Despite being the same age as him it was pretty obvious when Hunter wouldn't get heavily punished like the rest, or when he was barely placed into too dangerous missions.

"Ignoring them would just show that I'm passive, showing my strength is the only way to prove to Uncle that i worthy"

"You already are"

Now it was Hunter's turn to roll his eyes before continuing his practice shots on the nearby dummies.

While Hunter was know as the golden guard you were known as the silver guard. Ever since Belos found you from an abandoned village you were taken into the coven and was trained alongside Hunter. Basically the two of you equal one another and covered for the other's mistakes. While the two of you were on equal rank not many see you as a threat since you didn't receive such special treatment and you made it quite clear that you weren't interested being the face. Claiming that it was just too 'bothersome'.

"What about Kikimora ? She's been against me ever since she's got here"

"She wouldn't dare to pit a fight against you, she's already a high ranking superior. Challenging you seems dumb and might just earn her a scolding from Emperor Belos"

Hunter stopped before thinking about it. Nodding his head, then turning towards you with his artificial staff in hand. Fortunately for you, emperor Belos didn't take your palisman. Glancing at the open window you sighed getting up and dusted the dirt of your uniform, Hunter noticed a visibly frowned.

"Another mission ?"

"You sound dejected ?"

"No-! I want Uncle's efforts to prevail but..."

You turned to him, holding out you staff as you walked towards the window ready to fly off.

"Didn't you just went on another mission yesterday- i can come with-"

"No, emperor Belos said that you are suppose to remain in the castle"

"..."

Not bothering to look back you pulled down the mask. Concealing you face before you stepped of the ledge, falling off the window with staff in your hand you closed your eyes. The wind whirling past your ears as your (h/c) flowed around your face. Placing the staff between your thighs you steadily balanced yourself, the ground inching closer and closer until your palisman spread their wings. Immediately zipping off into the night sky causing some of the passerby's to be startled when you flew past them.

-

Landing on the ground the hopped off your staff and held it in your hand. Looking around the forest you started to walk mindlessly, there was suppose to be a shipment of goods for a supposing rebellion and you were tasked on stopping the shipment and eliminating any members on sight. Leaning against a tree you huffed out a sigh, you became more and  more aware on how Hunter was just anticipating another mission. Anything he could do to prove his wroth to Belos. Yet you know Emperor Belos was just trying to protect Hunter, protect him from the dangers and potential threats that could harm him. You knew because emperor Belos told you that himself, after hearing that you offered to take more missions for the sake of keeping Hunter safe.

It was hard to admit but Hunter had a goofy side, a emotion he rarely showed but it was such a refreshing sight to come back from missions to. He would crack a joke flawlessly while you had to think for a solid hour or two just to back out from potentially saying something that could embarrass yourself.

Keeping to your thoughts you could hearing a wagon being pulled. Turning your head to the direction you noticed the rebel shipment, right on time. Cracking you knuckles you stepped out of the shadows and in front of the road, scarring the three members that were guarding the shipment. Immediately they recognised you and started to draw circles, chuckling you tapped out staff on the ground. Summoning vines to rapidly curled around them making them immobilised.

"Now...."

You started, walking up to them as you raised your staff,

"...you'll tell me where this shipment is heading off to and i might just spare a limb or two"
