Groaning you slowly sat up and held onto your head, everything was ringing and you must've hit your head since it was thumping so loudly that it felt like that's all you could hear. You shakily sat up as your knees wobbled before you stumbled forward, luckily Sage grabbed onto your cloak holding you up with all her might.

"Sage...?"

Everything was still ringing and still blurry, managing to stand straight Sage handed you your staff and using it to steady yourself you continued to walk forward while looking around. The ship seemed to crash pretty hard, you could see some parts of the ship laying around but you weren't concerned about the damage. Now you were looking around to find Hunter, your footsteps continued through the path before stopping.

"Hunter-!"

You gasped and rushed over to his unconscious figure, you stumbled when you ran but didn't care all you knew was getting to his side as soon as possible. The first thing you noticed was his little tooth gape, which instinctively caused you to smile at first but realised that his mask must've fell. Luckily you still had yours, leaning forward you were so close to the point of hearing his soft breaths. Slowly you raised your hand to shake his shoulders,

"...It's me (Y/n)...Hunter...wake up...please"

You gently spoke as you looked around, you heard a rustle in the bush and immediately drew out your staff to defend you and Hunter's unconscious body but to your surprise the person that emerged wasn't a threat at all.

"Human-?"

"(Y/n)-! And stop calling me Human, you can call me Luz..."

Luz trailed off as her eyes travelled to the body behind you, you followed her eyes and turned. Noticing that Hunter was slowly sitting up with his hand resting on his hip, it seemed like he was hurt.

"Hunter..."

You ignored Luz and went over to him, helping him sit up as well as sitting in view of Luz. Call it loyalty or overprotective but something irked you, the fact that another girl about the same age as you is seeing Hunter's face for the first time worried you immensely.

Would she be starstruck by his eyes?

Unfortunately it didn't seem to work as Luz simply walked over to your side trying to help Hunter.

"Is he the golden guard...? He's so young and...so scrawny..."

"Ugh..."

Hunter groaned, finally opening his eyes. The first thing he saw was your worried eyes watching him, he couldn't help but smile but when he glanced to the side and noticed Luz was right beside the two of you he screamed in surprise and flew backwards. You could see that he was alright but when he went to reach for his staff he stopped.

"My staff-!"

You saw hunter's hand pointed towards the direction of Luz and when you finally took the time who get a good look at her she had his staff in his hand as well as a red winged bird palisman on her shoulder perched and watching. Hunter seemed like he was just about to go over and grab the staff from Luz but you quickly stopped him, placing your hand on his chest and pointed towards the sky. Kikimora flew right past the three of you, wordlessly everyone followed behind her and stopped at a nearby roof.

"That's where my mask went..."

Hunter grumbled as he watched her hold onto his mask and wailing on and on about how the both of you and Hunter crashed and didn't make it out. It was definitely something...it was nice to see how the guards cared for your wellbeing as well as Hunter's but their lack of actually knowing the both you was showing.

"Oh no...they perished and I haven't even met the silver guard yet, i wonder how she was like..."

"Isn't the silver guard an old man ?"

"No-! That's the golden guard !"

"I heard the golden guard was actually a child-"

And they went on and on about assuming your identity as well as Hunter's the fact that they probably didn't even know your names was enough to show how little they actually cared. Moping for a while then going back to work, its just how it is the emperor's coven. That's how the job is, losing a few guards on the daily isn't anything unusual.

The three of you sat up against the wall,

"We have to stop Kikimora from reporting this to uncl- I mean...Emperor Belos about the mission"

"Yes and the fact that Kikimora tried to attack us is enough to get her in trouble"

"...."

As Hunter trailed off you noticed the usually chirpy human...Luz was awfully quiet and just starring at you in worry. She scooted closer to you talking in a whisper,

"I can tell you know what will happen to those Palismans...you have your own surely you will try to help them"

Sage was taking a nap on your shoulder, the fall must've really exhausted her. Instinctively you glanced over to your sleeping friend.

"I do know yes..."

"What do you think will happen when you show up to Belos without any Palismans ?"

Yes, there have always been a small fear of yours that Belos will try and take Sage from you but he wouldn't dare would he ? When...when you'll show up with no Palismans and one on your own self.

"Hunter..."

You sat up and glanced at Luz,

"How about a truce-? You let me escape with the Palismans and I'll let the two of you go and I'll return the staff too"

Hunter took a while to think before agreeing,

"Fine, then what's the plan ?"

-
Hunter pulled up a cloth to cover up the lower half of his face while Luz did the same. You didn't need to since you still had your mask on.

"Are you sure ?"

You looked and noticed Luz returning his staff back to him.

"Alright Kikimora's moving we've got to go"

Luz slapped her hands over the glyph she drew and the sleeping mist started to spread and immediately the three of you took off after her.
