"Of course Emperor Belos- Lilith will not go unpunished for betraying the coven"

You bowed and turned around, walking out of the throne room.

Another mission...

Since Hunter became the new face of the coven you started to carry more of his missions on your shoulders, even the simple scouting ones. You have to admit it was nice seeing Hunter rest more often- his dark eye bags you grew accustomed were ever so slightly fading but you knew they wouldn't fade completely. Hunter will be aware soon that you're taking on more missions than usual and will question his own worth- again

The first time he did you had to console him in the middle of the night to prevent a sleepless night for Hunter.

Lost in thought you didn't realise that your own two feet carried you back to your room where Sage was flying around perching from shelves to land posts, looking around you noticed Hunter's sleeping figure in his bed. It was already late afternoon...you glanced at his work desk and that's all you need to know. From the unkept papers and empty mugs of coffee he had pulled an all nighter until his already malnourished body gave up on him. Sighing you walked over to him and pulled the lose covers that slipped around his shoulders.

But your wrist were caught by a hand gripping tightly to you.

"Uncle....please...-"

You looked at Hunter who was shaking and curling into himself, wordlessly you leaned down and place your forehead on his own. Casting a spell his mumbling and shaking slowly stopped, as his grip on your wrist loosen you took a few steps back.

Without turning back you took your mask which was resting on your bed, and grabbed your staff which Sage flew back to its place.

Time to go...

You hoisted yourself between your staff and took off into the sky, heading straight for the owl house.

-

When you arrived it was started to become nightfall, it was a much more longer journey than you expected. The owl house was buried deep in the woods and it was hard to navigate when your thoughts were preoccupied.

With the lack of sleep you had from going out to missions constantly you couldn't help yourself but you landed on a nearby tree, just high enough to avoid being spotted and having good cover with all the leaves. You leaned down and set your staff on your lap, it was hard to keep your eyes open but you quickly sat up when you heard a nearby door swing open. Looking down you noticed a girl walking out of the house, you squinted your eyes and noticed her lack of pointy ears.

The human !

"I'll go visit Amity really quickly-!"

You thought to yourself for a moment thinking back, the name the human spoke of was very familiar.

"Amity....Amity...Blight ?"

The Blight family were known in the coven for their business opportunities and their slight treat to Emperor Belos's vision. You were informed that Emperor Belos sent out a few guards disguised as buyers to keep a track on the family. But so far the reports have been rather lack lustre and wasn't in need of your help...yet.

This is my chance to capture the human when she's off guard !

You leaped off the tree branch and landed with a thump behind the human,

"Who-?!"

Without wasting a second you raised your staff and consumed the human between two large vines that spouted from the ground to bind her up. Seeing her bind up you lower your staff and spoke,

"Human- if you cooperate I'll let you go, i need to know the location of Lilith"

"Hooty-!"

Before you could even question the human you felt the ground rumble beneath you, grasping onto your staff you flew high into the air before the wooden snake like owl could grasp you. He quickly freed the human you capture and you could see two familiar figures coming out of the house.

Scoffing you stood on top of your staff as you casted a loud enchantment spell,

"Lilith, for betraying the coven I'm here to capture you and to hand you over to Emperor Belos"

"(Y/n) !"

You stiffened, it wasn't often Lilith will call you by your actual name. You were usually address as the silver guard, the same as Hunter. And even though Lilith knew your actual name she never called it out before and this visibly caught you off guard.

"I'm not here to negotiate- you're coming with me now !"

Raising your finger you drew two large circles and immediately two walls of flames surround the group but it was quickly countered when an large bundle of snow and ice was summoned to cool the fire.

"That's...not right"

Scouts informed you that the witches have lost their magic so why were they able to counter your spell-? You were to far up to see what they were doing but going closer might risk you having to fight all of them as well as that wooden worm thing.

Gritting your teeth you grabbed your staff and flew straight down at them, once their attention was on you. You immediately casted a teleportation spell to appear behind them, you tried to cast a barrier to trap Lilith but the human charged straight to you with a-

Is that a fistful for paper-?

"Take cover !"

The human shouted those words and you knew something large was going to happen but you were too slow to react. You could feel the multiple sheets of paper being stuck to your body and before you could cast a counter spell. A large explosion could be heard.

The last thing you remembered was feeling a sudden sharp amount of pain before bright flashed of light clouded your visions and bangs and cracks deafen your ears. You felt yourself falling to the ground but you were too week to get up, soon your eyes closed to welcome the darkness.
