You took a deep breathe, opening your eyes slowly trying to get used to the sudden change in scenario, gritting your teeth you suddenly felt a rush of pain towards your ribs and head. Your hand instinctively hold onto your head and ribs applying pressure to try and distract yourself from the burning pain.

"You shouldn't try to move much (Y/n)"

Looking around you noticed Lilith siting beside you reading a book, and now that your closer to her your noticed the sudden grey streak of hair and mismatched eye colour. As well as her own sudden weird attire,

"...Lilith ?"

"...Don't try to do anything, you're far to injured to fly away and try to escape."

"How are you and Hunter doing ?"

"...fine..."

The both of you fell into silence as you started to look around the room you were in, it was messy but strangely cozy. The silence was rather strange, you knew that the owl house was rather noisy and to be met with such silence was a bit uneasy.

"...What about the human and your sister-?"

"...So is that why you're here ? To scope out the owl house and find my sister and her human ?"

"..."

"All i know is they went out with King on some sort of boat trip"

After Lilith spoke she stood up and grabbed the book she was reading and walked out, you watched her figure exiting her room and sighed as she closed the door behind her.

"HELLO-!"

"GAH-!"

You exclaimed as you turned and raised your arm to strike the sudden owl like creature that was suddenly beside you but wince when you felt a strike of pain in your ribs.

"Ugh...who are you-?"

"Hooty reporting for duty ! Boy you really took a hugeee blow there, luckily Eda had a bunch of elixirs and Luz knew how to bandage your wounds real quick !"

"...who's Luz ?"

"Oh-! Luz is my best friend and she was the one that threw those paper spells to you, King is the great king of-..."

You glanced away as you started to tune Hooty out, your thoughts started to catch up. Realising that you failed the mission and that you absent for a while which will definitely make emperor Belos notice that you're late will most probably sent scouts here. Which in turn will make Hunter come here as well.

I can't risk letting him get hurt-!

"Hellooooo~"

You snapped out of your thoughts as Hooty laid on your lap as he rolled around gently trying to get your attention.

"Where's....my staff-?"

"Oh-? It's right here !"

Hooty circled around the room and ducked under the bed you were resting at to grab your staff and immediately handing it you in your shock.

"You're...just going to give my staff like this-?"

"Well yeah ! While Lilith and i were watching over you, you kept on mumbling the word Hunter and apologising over and over again. You don't seem like a bad person anyways...and I trust you !"
