summary - Simon has to take care of his sick and clingy boyfriend

Harry woke up around 10:30, earlier than he thought he would. He noticed he was still in the exact same position he had fallen asleep in, snuggled into Simon, who was still fast asleep. He desperately wanted to wake Simon up, rather selfishly, so that he would stroke Harrys hair and make him feel better.

It was day 3 of Harry being sick and he was starting to get bored. On day 1, Simon had to leave him alone with JJ so that he could film with Cal. JJ had been filming a music video all week and whenever he was back at the flat he would either be asleep or too grumpy to talk to Harry. the whole day was incredibly boring to Harry who just wanted attention from his boyfriend. On day 2, Simon was editing all morning and Harry would not leave his side. Instead of sleeping like Simon told him to, he managed to sneak up behind him whilst he was editing and then sit on his lap. Harry quickly wrapped his arms around him and buried his head into Simons shoulder before he could say anything. Simon couldn't ever be annoyed at Harry, and besides, once he had shifted him so that he could continue editing, it was quite comfortable. So they spent a few hours like that, Harry sniffing and coughing every now and then.

Today however, Harry wanted 100% of his boyfriends attention. He was determined to not let Simon out of his sight, even if that meant following him from room to room.

Simon woke up a few minutes later to a surprisingly awake Harry. Normally, it took a good 20 minutes for him to have fully woken up, but today he seemed especially mischievous.

"Morning," Simon murmured, as he was still half asleep.

"I feel a bit better," Harry smiled.

Despite seeming more energetic, Simon knew his boyfriend better than this. He was definitely recovering, but Harry still needed to rest, something he hardly seemed to be able to do without Simon being there to cuddle him.

"You need to sleep Harry,"

"I just slept for ages!"

"We went to bed at 2am because you decided to order a pizza instead of sleeping like I told you to,"

"Thats 8 hours of sleep! Thats like 3 more hours than I would normally get!"

"I promise you'll feel better if you sleep some more,"

"You're waffling you know,"

Simon just laughed.

"Can I have some food at least? Then I guess I could try to sleep some more... but you're not allowed to go anywhere,"

"Fine. Lets eat something."

Harry rolled out of bed and managed to pull Simon up with him. He grinned at Simon who, wondered how he still managed to look so pretty, despite having only just woken up and being ill.

"We can't wake JJ up though ok?" Simon told Harry as they made their way rather noisily to the kitchen.

"Yeah, whatever," Harry responded and began to inspect the fridge.

"You know how angry he'll be because he's been filming all week. I honestly think he would punch you in the face Harry."

"Well I've got that Guernsey farmer strength, you know? I reckon I could take a hit from him?"

"He's got like, 15kg on you?"

"True, he is a whole unit now," Harry said. "What a fat bastard,"

"Look if you WANT him to punch you I might have to leave but-"

"You, are not going anywhere Minter," Harry said very confidently as he looked Simon in the eyes and poked him the chest.

"Oh really?" Simon asked.

"Yes. I was so bored when you weren't here I started gossip girl by myself!"

Simon burst out laughing, trying his best not to wake up JJ who would definitely not be afraid to hit either him or Harry.

"Harry why don't you let me make you some cereal, ok, and you can sit down on the sofa?"

Harry didn't immediately comply, but he had suddenly realised he was actually quite tired. He didn't want to admit that Simon knew him better than himself, so he just quietly sat down and gave himself a hug. Whenever, Simon looked after him like this he felt like a child again. It was sort of fun to have someone fussing over him like his mum once did.

Simon took too long for Harrys liking though, and he started to get impatient. He decided, instead of obeying his boyfriend and resting, to climb on top of the kitchen table, because he had never noticed how fluffy the lampshade that hung there was. It looked so soft, he just had to stroke it....

He managed to hop on fairly easily, and he was just about to reach it when Simon walked in.

"Harry?"

He didn't respond, he simply jumped off the table quickly and gave Simon the most innocent and naive smile he could. Simon was used to his boyfriends childlike ways, and so he didn't bother to ask him what he was doing. Instead, he just sat down beside Harry and placed two bowls of Weetabix on the table.

"Once we're finished, I might have to do like half an hour of editing, ok?" Simon told Harry who was definitely not going to let this happen.

"You're not allowed to leave me, or I'll refuse to go to sleep tonight and I'll be as annoying as I can."

Simon sighed and couldn't help but smile at Harry. He supposed he could sack off editing for today if it meant Harry would be happy.

Once they had both finished eating, Harry was sort of glad that Simon was forcing him to sleep, because to be truthful he did need it. However if his boyfriend wasn't there to hold him until he fell asleep he knew he probably would have been stupid and done something to make himself feel worse.

Before getting into bed, Simon, like the overprotective boyfriend/mother he was to Harry, made him drink a cup of tea, take some paracetamol and put on a hoodie so that he would stop shivering. Harry did all these things willingly, mostly because the quicker he did what Simon told told him to the quicker they could get into bed together, but also because he wanted to get better again. Being sick wasn't great.

Finally, they got into bed together, Simon carefully wrapping his arms around Harry and pulling him into his chest. Harry felt around for Simons hand and squeezed it gently when he found it. This was something he did to show affection when he was really tired and it made Simon smile to himself. He gently traced patterns up and down Harrys spine and stroked his hair every now and then and he could feel Harry start to relax. Eventually, his breathing got slower and Simon knew he was asleep. He looked down at Harry to see he had finally calmed down and was sleeping peacefully. Simon could, and probably did, spend far too long just staring at Harry, watching his eyes flicker occasionally and his chest rise and fall. It was just that he never felt happier than when it was just him and his favourite person in the world.
