Summary - Harry has a bad day and Simon cheers him up

From the moment he woke up, Harry knew his day was not going to go according to plan.

For a start, when he opened his curtains to inspect the weather, he was met with an unnaturally grey sky filled with ominous dark clouds. He didn't particularly want to venture outside but there was absolutely no food in his shared flat and he knew Cal would be filming all day. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. His bedroom was cold but he still didn't really want to leave it.

He was also hungry though so after a couple moments he forced himself to venture into his bathroom. He looked at himself in the mirror; was he really that pale? To be fair, it had been weeks since the sun had shone in London and Harry was just one of those people who stayed pretty pale at the even height of summer. However, this was a different type of paleness. He looked as if all of the colour in his face had been drained making him appear exhausted and slightly sickly looking. Perhaps a hot shower would make him look slightly less dead before he went out.

He stripped naked and climbed slightly awkwardly into the shower. He turned the faucet on and was unfortunately surprised by the water being absolutely freezing. The ice cold water definitely woke him up but it was a rather unpleasant way to start his morning. He gave up a few minutes later and wrapped himself in a towel to try and warm himself up. He couldn't be bothered to put any effort into his outfit so he simply grabbed the first items of clothing he could find; sidemen clothing joggers, a hoodie that once belonged to Simon and odd socks. It didn't matter what he looked like since he was only heading to Sainsbury's.

At least that was what Harry had told himself when he was looking at himself back at home. A group of teenage girls had noticed him on his way to Sainsbury's and proceeded to shyly ask for a photo. Obviously, Harry couldn't say no and so he said yes slightly reluctantly. He begun to regret not spending a little longer on his appearance that morning and he was feeling a lot more self conscious by the time the girls had left. He told himself it didn't matter and that all he had to do now was get some food and then he could retire to his room for the rest of the day. That was easier said than done however because Sainsbury's was unusually busy and missing half the items Harry needed. In the end, he left with not enough food, simply because he was done with the day. He wanted to go home.

He started to feel slightly better on his walk back. He had seen a cute dog that reminded him of his own dog back in Guernsey and nobody had bothered him. But of course, when he was less than 5 minutes away from his flat it started to rain heavily. There was no point in Harry even attempting to stay dry because in a matter of seconds he was thoroughly soaked. Now not only was he cold, he was wet.

Harry unlocked the door to his flat and immediately sighed in relief. Cal had at least bothered to turn on the heating and so Harry started to warm up. He placed his shopping bags in the kitchen and unpacked them slowly. By the time he was done, he had begun to dry off slightly, but this simple task had exhausted him for some reason.

He walked slowly and defeatedly up to his room. However when he opened up the door he almost jumped out of his skin.

On his bed, Simon was sat, scrolling casually on his phone.

"Minter?!" Harry yelled.

"Hi Harry," Simon replied. "I did text you saying I was coming over."

"My phones dead," Harry replied

Simon didn't respond. He just looked Harry up and down and his eyes filled with concern.

"You're soaked."

"No shit Sherlock"

Simon smiled to himself. Harry was so effortlessly funny.

Right now though he seemed exhausted and in need of some affection. Simon knew him better than anyone else and he could tell that Harry had had a bad day.

"Get changed and then we can get into bed."

"It's only 3pm?"

"I think you need to lie down Harry. You certainly look like you need to."

Harry didn't even bother arguing. He walked over to his wardrobe to pick out another outfit whilst Simon made himself comfortable. After a couple minutes, Harry emerged in a different hoodie and different joggers and a matching pair of socks this time. Simon smiled at how adorable he looked and summoned for Harry to come get into bed with him. Harry shuffled under the covers into bed and let Simon wrap his arms around his waist. He rested his head on Simons chest and let the steady rhythm of his heartbeat soothe him to sleep. Simon watched Harry close his eyes and relax his body as he fell asleep, meanwhile gently stroking his hair. Simon thought Harry looked the most beautiful when he was asleep.
