Sola closed the book and hugged it into her chest. She stayed sitting on the ledge of the bridge for a moment. She sat there, thinking about everything again. A tear slowly rolled down her cheek. She wiped it away with her hand.

Still holding her book next to her chest she stands up on the ledge. She faces the train tracks. She looks down. This is what she wanted to do. What she felt like she needed to do. So she was going to.

She hugs the book a little tighter into her chest. She closes her eyes really tight. I’m going to jump. I need to. Everything will be better if I do. Sola thought. She was trying to convince herself that she was going to be alright if she would just jump.

At the other side of the bridge a car starts to pull over. A woman in the driver’s seat gets out and starts walking to the back of the car. She starts inspecting her back tires. The younger girl in the passenger seat looks over. She looks out the driver side window.

She sees Sola. Her face fills with fear. What was she doing? Was she going to kill herself? How can she save her? She was in shock she didn’t know what to do. She sits there for a minute and thinks about what to do.
