Damian's POV

It was one of those mundane missions the Titans often went on. Some toy-puppet-magician criminal was robbing the bank for the fiftieth time, honestly the whole thing was very juvenile in Damian's opinion. He had half a mind to teach these delinquents how to really break into a vault, just to make the battle a little more high stake. That would definitely earn him some points with the Titans. Not to mention his father, the thought made him smirk. Nothing would burst a blood vessel on Batman's forehead like learning his son had decided to join the criminal life. Not that he could judge when he recently tumbled with the likes of criminals like Cat-Woman.

With that thought in his mind to amuse him, Damian turned his attention back to the debrief session Starfire was leading. The Tamaranian had a way to make every mission sound like a trip to the carnival. How anyone could be so cheerful all the time was beyond him. "How is she always so cheerful" murmured Raven. Damian shot her a tiny smirk letting her know he agreed with her. Sometimes it felt like they were both on the same brain frequency, their thoughts were so similar.

Even though he had only known her for two years, he felt like Raven knew him better than anyone else. They had a way of communicating with their eyes and gestures that always kept the city's underworld on their toes. Just one glance from Raven and Damian would know to move out of the way so he would be clear of her power's range. A tell tale tilt of Damian's head and Raven would set the trap perfectly for Damian to knock out a criminal. His grandfather would be disgusted at the way Damian sometimes left his flank open just to defend her. Not that he would ever admit to it.

Honestly he had had no intention of ever even developing a relationship with the witch but she just had a gravity he couldn't help but get pulled into. Sometimes when she looked at him, he found himself fumbling with weapons he'd worked with from the age of 3. It was disconcerting but not entirely unwelcome. It also didn't help that Kori was constantly assigning them as partners when he so desperately wanted to get rid of these feelings.

Okay so, maybe this mission wouldn't be a total waste of time.

Raven's POV

She glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. He had grown in the two years with them. No longer was he the insufferable Wayne heir that wanted to work alone. The Damian Wayne she knew now was becoming more and more like the the one she had sensed so long ago when she healed him: a kind and generous soul. He was still arrogant as ever and his smiles were still rare but she had glimpsed the softer sides of him.

She had seen him hand over his carnival prize to a little girl, she witnessed the tenderness he showed towards Titus when he thought no one was paying attention. And once when she had the sniffles, Raven saw that the next day the pantry was mysteriously filled with 4 different variations of herbal teas and every version of Tylenol on the market. Beast boy had even questioned whether the Titans were opening a pharmacy as a side business. No one could ever figure out who had stocked the pantry but Raven could have sworn she had seen Damian leave the tower that night.

His demeanour wasn't the only thing that had changed over the two years. The thought warmed her cheeks and she had never been more grateful of her control over her emotions. She realized how dangerous it was to develop feelings for anyone, especially with her fathers constant threats to kill everyone she ever met. She could let herself admit that she admired his jade green eyes and the features he inherited from Batman were not half bad. But she couldn't let it go any further than that. She couldn't have another death on her hands.

Even with all the restrain she had over her feelings, she couldn't help but feel a little excited for the mission.

Dick's POV

She was going to be the death of him. How many times had he asked Kori to not play matchmaker? And still she assigned Damian with Raven for yet another mission. Honestly she was going to be the death of him, Joker has nothing on her. When Dick asked her why she had to interfere she claimed that they worked well together but the smile in her voice and the excitement in her eyes couldn't be hidden. They both knew Kori wanted the two young titans to admit their feelings to each other already.

Honestly it was a wonder why they hadn't yet, everyone in the tower knew something was going on between them. They had all seen Damian leave the tower to get medication every time raven had so much as a stuffed nose. And no one was oblivious to the way raven rather aggressively attacked any enemy that so much as aimed a gun at Damian. Garfield had even started to hum about two birds sitting in a tree whenever one of them wasn't close enough to knock him out.

Even Batman had caught on to the way Damian spent most of his time with Titus whenever he went to Gotham. Of course he never said anything, but he did make it a habit to keep Damian in Gotham for as short a visit as possible. Whenever Dick questioned him about it he guilefully replied that Damian had better things to do than mop at Wayne manor. They all knew it was just a matter of time.

Maybe this mission would be the push they need.
