Jia's POV
~Thursday: 9:34 AM~
"Aren't you planning to go home?" I asked as I sat across him, placing two bowls of porridge on the table.
Soonyoung obviously did not hear my question as he started to devour the bowl of food I placed right in front of him. "Hey, Slow down you might choke" I reminded him, but he still continued to eat until he started to gag.
"Told you" I sighed before handing him a glass of water which he gulped down immediately.
"Thanks" He panted as he put down the empty glass on the table.
"As I was saying, aren't you planning to go home?" I asked as silence answered me. He avoided my gaze as he looked from a far.
"I-I actually have no place to stay" His words caught me off guard, making me divert my attention to him immediately.
"L-Listen, I can't go back to my place s-since these people might find me and kill me" He stuttered as he fidget his fingers.
"Then, why don't you try to ask help from your co-agents?" I asked, trying to find ways to help him out.
Don't tell me he's gonna stay here.
"I can't! I can't just use phones and such to contact my comrades. Since my n-nemesis might track me down"
"Well, uhm, don't you have any sorts of devices?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow.
"They took it all away from me when they captured me, but I escaped which is why I met you" I stifled a sigh.
"Which is why...I wanna ask if you don't mind letting me stay here for a while" He muttered in a small voice.
"How long are you planning to hide then?" I crossed my arms.
"F-Four weeks"
"One month?!"
"Uhm, yeah"
I don't know this man and I can't trust him.
But he's injured and too fragile to fight.
"Soonyoung, I don't know what to say. I don't even know who you are which is why I can't trust you," I stood up, getting the bowls which I placed in the sink.
"Please Jia, I swear! If I succeed this mission. I'll give you half of my commission" Those words perked my ears.
"H-Half of your commission?" I turned around, facing him.
"Yeah, one billion"
That's more than enough to sustain all my needs and wants.
I can't trust him, but I badly need the money.
"I-Is this for real?" I scoffed.
"Yes! I swear! Just let me stay here for about a month and I promise you that I will give you half of my commission" He exclaimed with pleading hands as he clasped his hands in a prayer form.
Maybe, giving him the benefit of the doubt isn't that bad.
We'll see about this.
I can finally pay my tuition, books, and buy a few new clothes for myself, but most importantly, I can finally afford an apartment for myself wherein I can dwell and finally be away from my father.
Soonyoung is a blessing in disguise.
Soonyoung's POV
I stifled a sigh as soon as I shut the door. My shoulders went droopy as I took a glance at my phone in which I saw messages from my mother and missed calls.
