Minkyung's POV

"So, this is it, huh?" I muttered under my breath as I stopped driving my car to take a closer look at the house that was located in this local, friendly village.

Since I've got the information out of agent Kim's mouth and also I've tasked a few underdog of mine to declare his death as natural cause and now his body is being burned in the incinerator as of this moment.

Thank God, he got no family.

I wasted no time and went to travel to the place where Soonyoung is probably at. I got an information from an agent assigned at this district that they've seen a peculiar lad with a lady residing at this local village.

I guess it's him.

I have decided to stay in shadows for a while and keep an eye on my brother in secret. I want to see the way he live right now since he is far away from his comfort zone which is his home in Seoul.

I didn't even told my mom where he is or else mom would probably sent guards in secret to take him back in force, but I don't want that to happen since it might just create a big chaos between my brother and mom.

I heard that he was living with this girl whose identity is still unknown to me. However, I will investigate that when I finally catch a glimpse of her.

"Guess, I'll be back tomorrow" I muttered to myself before I started to drove away, to the hotel where I checked in for a suite wherein I could stay for about a month or two.

Soonyoung's POV

"Told you, you should've just stayed here" I scolded as I sat beside her right after putting a warm towel on her forehead.

"But I have to work" she insisted in a weak voice.

"Work can wait, you have to prioritize your health first" I stood up to prepare food, but then she called my name. "Soonyoung," I turned around, only to find her staring at me.

"Thank you"

"No problem, it's the least thing I can do for letting me stay here" I said before I made my way to the kitchen.

I sighed before I put both of my hands on the counter, thinking of what to food to make for her. However, my thoughts right now are mixed up.

I've been thinking about on what's the worse that could happen if uncle Jungsoo continues to rule over the company. While my other thoughts are all about Jia's condition.

I am curious of why is she like that. There is something weird about her ever since the first time we met. She had bruises on her face and a bandage near her lips when I bumped to her, and she always wears sweaters and long sleeves.

She looks so fragile and delicate, I wanted to protect her and be there for her although she can be a little ill-tempered and moody sometimes.

Someone or something probably made her like that.

I want to know what made her like that.

So, in that way I could help her even more.

Jia's POV

I sighed as I slowly stood up from the sofa to make my way to my bedroom, so I could take my phone and ask Joshua to cover my shift for me tomorrow.

I was about to make my way to my room when I saw Soonyoung, cooking in the kitchen with his back facing me. The view suddenly made me smile which I find peculiar and ridiculous of me.

I shouldn't be thinking of him that way.

That's ridiculous, I never had anyone love me before.

Plus, I just met him and I don't even know him that much.

But his gestures right now tells me how caring and kind he is.

I shrugged off those thought and decided to make my way inside the room to grab my phone.

"How does it taste?" Soonyoung asked as I nodded my head in response that it is good.

"Knew that was a good recipe!" He exclaimed as he raised his fist in the air which I find adorable.

"Thank you so much for taking care of me"

"No problem" he smiled ear-to-ear.

"You should ask one of your colleagues to cover for your shift tomorrow" he spoke as he sat across me, taking off the apron.

He's so thoughtful.

"I did, and he said he'll do it" I responded.

"Good to hear"

I cannot help, but to admire Soonyoung for his kindness and empathy towards me, but at the same time I'm also suspicious of him.

My step father broke my trust thousand times already and since then, I was not able to trust anyone who comes new into my life.

It was hard to trust people.

But as for Soonyoung,

I think, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt to let him in my heart.

Seungcheol's POV

"Don't you have tutorial classes?" Jeonghan asked as I sat across him who was taking a sip of his hot coffee.

I was enrolled to do these tutorial classes since I was failing my classes last semester, but since my mother and I aren't in good terms. I have no will to attend these classes.

"I do" I simply replied before taking a sip of the iced coffee he bought for me.

"But I skipped it today"

"Typical Choi Seungcheol" Jeonghan clicked his tongue as he shook off his head, making me chuckle.

"What's the point of studying? I'm gonna die anyways" I shrugged my shoulder, making him laugh as he continued to thumb his phone.

"Whatever, Seungcheol, you should still study since your parents worked hard to provide for you" I rolled my eyes upon hearing his motherly advice again which is his typical movements.

"Jia got sick" he suddenly said which made me furrowed my eyebrows today.

"What?"

"Joshua said that Jia texted him to cover for her shift since she's sick" he explained as he showed me his phone wherein his conversation with Joshua was flashed.

"God, I gotta visit her tomorrow, she needs someone to take care of her" I said worriedly.

"I know right, I'll come with you" he agreed.

I have always been worried of that girl who works hard to the point she exhausts herself. I've always wanted to be there for her which is why I'm taking this opportunity to show how much I care for her.

Hang in there, Jia.

I'm here for you.
