Jia's POV

"Did you have fun?" Seungcheol asked as we walk through the sidewalk. Our path was illuminated by the streetlights which made it easy for us to find our way home.

After hanging out at the arcade, we separated ways. Seungcheol lives in the same neighborhood as I do which is why we walk together.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked out of blue, making me chuckled.

"I don't, I've been single since birth and you know that" I answered as we laughed.

"And you? I bet you already have a girlfriend. Jeonghan said you're famous in your school" I teased as he scoffed.

"I don't care about them, I only got my eyes on one girl" He said as we stopped in front of my house.

"I bet she's pretty" I said as he smiled at me.

"Yeah, she really is, especially when she smiles"

"Haha, I want to meet her someday" I playfully hit his arm as he just smiled back.

"Well then, I'll see you around, Cheol. It was nice to hang out with you after months"

"You too" He said before I walked away and made my way inside my house.

"Who was that?" Soonyoung asked curiously.

"Choi Seungcheol, he's a friend of mine" I answered as he nodded his head.

"Anyway, I made dinner and went grocery shopping" He spoke as I tossed my bag on the sofa.

"Grocery? Where'd you get the money?" I asked as I made my way to the kitchen only to find bags of groceries on the counter.

"I went to a pawnshop and exchanged a few of my valuables for cash" His words made my eyes widened.

"Wh-What? Soonyoung, you didn't have to" I furrowed my eyebrows as I walk towards him.

"I have to, or else we won't have enough food."

Now, I feel guilty for being hysterical at him last night.

"I'm sorry for shouting at you last night." I sighed as I leaned on the counter.

"No, I'm the one who should be sorry since I didn't respect your privacy." He responded.

"But anyway, I do really appreciate your efforts" I smiled.

"Thanks" he smiled back before I made my way to my room, sitting down in front of the mirror as I start to removed my make up.

I appreciate Soonyoung for being responsible, but I still won't let my guard down since I just met him and I have no idea about his background, other that knowing him as an agent who failed his mission.

I want to know more about him, just to make sure he is not a bad guy or anything. I slowly turned my eyes on the sleeves of my sweater which I pulled it up slowly.

I stared at the scars, holding it as I remember all the traumatic events that I went through. The sadness and killing pain that made me slit my arms, the beatings and harsh words I have received from my step father.

My biological father died from cardiac arrest here in this province. After that, mom and I moved to Seoul for a fresh start and that's when she met my step father.

He was nice.

Everything was nice at first, but then it started to fall apart.

We fell apart, crumbling into pieces.

I can still remember the day my mother died. It was an unexpected encounter with death that neither any of us have visualize.

It was a sunny day in Seoul. Just like an ordinary family, my mother, step father and I have decided to go for a picnic on a Saturday afternoon.

~Flashback~

I blew bubbles from the toy my mother bought as I walk and walk around the local playground. This pretty butterfly came which caught my attention.

"Jia! Don't go too far!" Mom shouted.

"Yes, mom!" But I was too naive and went to follow the butterfly that flew around until it led me to the road wherein lots of vehicle were driving.

"Jia!" I heard my mom shouted as I turned to the road wherein I found a truck that was about to hit me. I closed my eyes, but then the only thing I felt was when she pushed me and it made me fell onto the ground.

"H-Hyejung!" My step father had rushed to the lifeless body of my mother on the ground, all bloody.

"Hyejung-ah! Please stay with me!" He shouted as he trembled, tears trickling down from his eyes. Some people started to gather around the accident, whispering things to each other with their phone out.

~End of Flashback~

"Jia" I quickly pulled down the sleeves of my sweater, wiping off my tears as soon as I heard Soonyoung called.

"Yes?" I asked as I turned to him who stood by the doorway.

"Are you free tomorrow?" He asked.

"Uhm yeah, tomorrow's Sunday which is my day off" I answered as a smile formed on his lips.

"Let's go arcade" he offered.

"Oh, all of a sudden?" I asked as he nodded his head.

"Yep, I'm bored and don't worry, it'll be my treat" he added.

"Aren't you suppose to like hide since your opponent or something might be out there?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow at him.

"A-Ah right, don't worry about that. I can just go for some d-disguises" he said as he chuckled sheepishly.

"Plus, I also wanna treat you somewhere as a thank you for letting me stay" He winked.

"You don't have to" I smiled as I shake my head off.

"This is just a once in a lifetime, so enjoy it" He exclaimed as I scoffed before he left.

I guess having this guy around is pretty fun.
