Jia's POV

These were the most hellish eight hours of my life. It was about four when Soonyoung had left to follow Mingyu and the others.

Now, it's twelve and I heard nothing from them.

"You should sleep, I can keep guard here 'till morning" Jun said as I kept walking back and forth.

"No, I'm fine" I insisted as I started to bite my nails as a way to cope into overthinking.

The telephone in the bedroom suddenly rang which startled us. "I'll get it" Jun had stood up from the sofa, making his way there, while I followed him from behind.

"O-Oh" I heard him cooed as I stood by the door. He put down the telephone as he slowly turned his head towards me; he had an unreadable, emotionless expression.

"Minkyung's dead" he said as he hung his head low which made my eyes widened.

Junhui and I rushed back to the living room, upon hearing the sudden flash of news. "Missing Son of deceased owner of Diamond Corp. Has finally showed up after the home invasion that happened to his mother..." Junhui and I exchanged looks upon seeing their home on television, surrounded by reporters, cops and paramedics.

Soonyoung's POV

I walked back and forth as my mind starting to become unclear. The more I think about her death, the I was running out of breath. Mingyu sat down on one of the benches, with his head hung low, even a word could not be heard from him.

As soon as the doctor came out of the room. Mingyu and I have turned our heads towards him, anticipating for a miracle to come out of his lips. "She's dead on the spot" The doctor sighed which made my mouth go dry; his words made me only feel more down.

The doctor have allowed us to see her body which is why we went in, even though if it is against our eyes. "N-Noona" I weakly called as my knees felt weak, making me kneel down as I hugged her body which was covered with a white blanket.

"Y-You didn't have to do it..." Tears streamed down my face as I closed my eyes, feeling her cold body brushed against my arms.

"When you said that someone has to be the death b-bait,"

"I-It didn't have to be you." I sobbed.

Jia's POV

"Soonyoung has instructed me to stay here with you for a while until he say so" Junhui said as soon as he put down his phone.

"When will I be allowed to go home then?" I asked.

"I'm not sure, but probably after three days" He answered as I nodded my head.

"With Minkyung's death, everyone might go chaotic" he added as he sighed.

"Sometimes, I don't really know what's going on in that girl's mind" he said in a sad, lone voice.

"How long have you been working under her?" I asked as I turned my head to him who sat beside me.

"two years" he answered.

"I was failing so much in life. I dropped out of college due to financial issues right after both of my parents died. I tried to make the best out of everything, unfortunately, I turned to alcohol to cope..." He trailed off as he stared at the ceiling as if he is reminiscing those memories.

"I also went to jail for illegal possession of drugs."

"I served years in prison, but when I got out. I met Minkyung and she changed me" He said as he turned to me.

"She offered me a job, gave me a home, clothes and food to eat until I had enough money to pay it on my own."

"She was a good woman, Jia" he remarked as I nodded my head in agreement.

I can say that she is a good person although she has this emotionless, stern aura all the time. She made me stay here for my own safety and I appreciate that a lot.

Soonyoung's POV

It was six in the morning when I got here, in my penthouse where I live since this was close to the university I study. The police made us stay out of he crime scene for them to clean and investigate.

"Why don't you get some sleep?" mom asked as she stood a distance.

"Later." I muttered an answer as I stared at the television. I wasn't even watching, but I turned it on just so my mind would be distracted from the thoughts and questions circulating through my mind.

She came to me with a concern expression plastered on her face. She sat down beside me as she put her hand on top of my hand which was placed on my lap. "Look, I know it's tough, but we'll get over this" She reassured.

"I lost dad and now she's gone too, mom" I muttered as I felt a lump form in my throat.

Even just thinking about her makes me cry already.

"I'm tired of losing people in my life" I added.

"All I ever wanted was justice for dad's death! Minkyung noona didn't have to do this! I am so sick of this!" Mom hugged me tightly as I sobbed in her arms.

"It's my fault, mom! It's my fault!" I shrieked in pain.

"Soonyoung, it's no one's fault, don't blame yourself. Everything happens for a reason." She whispered as I felt her drew circles in my back to comfort me.

"Cry it out" She whispered as I continued to sob endlessly.

The pain is too much to the point I feel numb.

It was chaotic inside of me.

I could not bring the pain into words.

Jia's POV

"Jia, wake up" I slowly opened my eyes, only to be greeted by Jun's presence.

"What?" I asked as I sat down and realized that I fell asleep on the sofa, with the television still on, but this time it it showing an afternoon variety show.

It was twelve when we heard the news. I have been sleeping for ten and more hours since I was tired because of all the overwhelming thoughts.

"Soonyoung's mother told me that we can go home now" Jun said as I nodded my head.

"I'll go back to my house now then" I said as I stood up.

"No, you're coming with me,"

"What? Why?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows at him, and gave him a weird look.

"Mrs. Kwon wants to meet you."
