chapter 8

By body hurt and everything around me was dark, I could hear voices but they were far away. "The last one" echoed in my head "fox" echoed and I was getting confused.

"Focus" the voice rang out loudly without an echo behind it. I couldn't see anything but darkness and was starting to get scared, I didnt want to die or never see my mom ever again.

I pushed myself into the darkness, it was like an endless pit of dark and when I finally thought I saw light I was stuck in place. I had to get to that light, mom was on the other side, jasmine was on the other side, my new life was on the other side.

I pushed so hard and felt sharp pains go up my legs as I finally moved them one step. Then another and another until i was a few feet from the light. I could feel the warmth of the light, but my legs hurt so much I could not move them anymore.

I had to stop. I had to rest. I felt like I had just lost a battle because my body protested. We needed to get to mom she was going to worry about us. As the thought of my mom being alone passed through my mind I felt such and angry and sad feeling build up. I had to move just a few more steps.

I cried out as my legs gave away from under me and I slipped into the light. Everything was white and it hurt my eyes. I closed them as the pain became unbearable and I fell into another lapse of darkness that scared me more then the first.

I could hear voices they still weren't clear for me to understand everything but I heard a few words "foxglove...eat...sick...so..death" i was very concerned about what they were talking about.

Then i heard her voice, i would know it anywhere "but...love...can..her.." it was my mom. I felt something heavy in my hand that squeezed it tightly. "Shes...hand" I heard her cry. She was not suppose to cry, I had to open my eyes "nerves...dead" I heard again.

I had to open my eyes. I felt pain shoot up my legs and up into my hips and my arms. I slowly opened my eyes. "She...live...you..no idea...about" I stopped listening to the fight as I opened my eyes fully and was blinded by the light of the room.

I had to blink alot but I finally got to the point where my eyes no longer where bothered by the light. "Honey...dead...feeling?" I still could only hear so many words like I had cotton in my ears.

I felt tears rising into my eyes "cant...hear" I rasped out. "...side effects...poisoned" mom said. "Jasmine...alpha...saved..." I wondered how long I was out.

I glanced up to see a man in white looking at me shocked "water please" I rasped out. He nodded and left the room faster then a cheetah after a an antelope.

"You will...hearing...off" I could put things together, I wont have my hearing back for a minute. The doctor came back in with two bottles of water and jasmine, alpha, and luna following close behind.

"She...hear..." mom told them and they gave me a sad look "its okay" I told them as I took the water from the doctor who still looked suprised. "You've..5..." I finally took my hands and showed her to write it down for me.

She got a note pad, I had been out for 5 weeks and I was no longer in my little home town. I was in the new school, they where the only ones who could help me in my state she wrote down.

"She..." the doctor didnt even finish his sentence "she...willed" I could guess what alpha said about me but I pushed it away. I took the blanket that was on me and slipped my feet over the edge of the bed.

Mom put her hand on my legs and shook her head, I pushed past her and put my feet on the cold hospital floor. I felt weak but I had to get up and walk, I looked like a bean poll I was skinny and looked to need a real meal.

I was very confused about what happened but pushed it away as i started stumbling around the room. The doctor walked out and i sware he yelled something but wasn't for sure.

A few minutes later in walked the headmaster and the doctor. "You...faster...are..." I motioned to my ears and shook my head. "Cant..." she said sticking her hand out for my mom to hand her the note pad.

She wrote some stuff down, "you healed faster then I expected. And I'm glad to see you trying to walk not even an hour after waking up. I'll give you another week to recover and then I'll let you tag along with Jasmine as she is, for all everyone knows, is you sister and you are adopted".

I nodded my head at her "have you met your fox yet?" She wrote out "no, not yet" I told her, my voice still a little gruff. "I hope you do soon, she can help you" she wrote down.

When it finally was time for bed everyone left my room and turned out the light. I had to get my strength back, I had to be strong. I got out of bed and walked around the room for hours until I no longer stumbled or fell.

When I was finally satisfied with what I had done I went to a wall clear of anything. I placed my hands on it and moved my feet so I was at an angle. I brought myself down to the wall and touched it with my nose, I did that five times before my arms started hurting.

I got into bed and everything hurt, my legs from the walking and my arms from the wall push-ups. My eyes felt heavy and I fell into a sleep that pulled me in like the wind with a newly bloomed dandelion.
