chapter 15

When I opened my eyes I was back in the hospital room yet again. I needed to start working out more, I thought to myself as I climbed out of the bed. I walked to the door and opened it. A warrior wolf stood at the side of my door, he looked at me smiled and walked away.

I shook my head and walked the direction of the front doors. I made it to my dorm without so much as a second glance from anyone. I opened my dorms door and heard laughing. I smiled "at least they are safe" I though as I walked to my room, no one noticed me so I slipped into my bed. It was a little after ten so I opened one of my books and started studying since I'm sure I missed a few days worth of classes.

I heard a knock on my door and yelled "com'in" in walked a guy about two years older then me. His hair was a messy black hole and his eyes held worry "I'm so happy your back in the dorms. Sorry we didn't get there sooner you looked pretty beat up" he said and I smiled "it's not a problem, I'll protect my pack. It's what needs to be done. But I also need to find out more about my shift." I said looking at the book in me hands that didn't help at all.

"Well my older brother is coming down to see if he wants to come back or not. He might now something about your shift? He's been all over the world looking for his mate. He won't take up the alpha potion without them" oh this was stars alpha, that makes since.

"That would be cool but I'm sure he doesn't want to talk to me about my shift. He probably just wants to see if his mates here" I told him shutting my book. "We'll head master said no more night runs especially in the woods without a warrior wolf with us" I nodded my head in understanding.

"Class starts back up tomorrow then we are out for a little break, the headmaster wanted me to let you know" he said and I thanked him and he shut my door behind him. I didn't want to ask random people about my shift!

A few days passed and the break had began, not alot of people stayed they went back home. But I stayed, rouges don't take days off so I won't either. Star jasmine and stars alpha, I already forgot his name. As I walked around the school I heard that some sort of shield spell was lifted so parents could come visit there kids.

I walked for a few hours before I saw star and Jasmine, and Jasmine was holding the guys hand? I looked closer and Jasmine looked like she was glowing. She was my best friend so I needed to know what was up.

"Hey guys!" I said and Jasmine let go and ran to me knocking me over "why are you so excited?" I asked as her smile got bigger "I found my mate! It's Isaac's older brother! I'm going to be Luna!" She cries happily.

"That's fantastic!" I told her as we got off the ground. "I can't wait till you find your then we can double date!" She was so happy I didn't want to tell her that, I really didn't want to find my mate. They would keep me from protecting my pack. They would see me as weak and that I needed to be handled like glass. I was strong and didn't need anyone telling me what to do.

"That would be great but my mate would most likely reject me once they know my shift Jasmine. I hate to say that but it's true" I told her smiling. "I bet not! Your mate will love you" she said walking me over to the group of friends.

"Did you hear the headmaster took the protection sheild down for our parents to come visit over break?" She asked and I nodded my head. The rouges are going to have a feild day, I thought as we stood in a weird simi circle.

"Hey Emilia how ya feelin" Isaac asked me as we walked up "alot better thanks too you guys. I would probably be dead if not for you" I said smiling nicely at everyone. Star smiled back "it was all Isaac. He realized you weren't with us so we followed him back to find you" I felt my face blush a little but didnt think to much about it.

"Oh, Isaac dad wanted me to tell you. After you graduate he has a huge plot of land so you can start your own pack. He said that it should help spread us out more world wide" I stopped listening after that and stared at the tree line. I heard something and launched myself at my friend's and we all hit the ground.

"What was that for!?" They all asked. I looked behind us and so did they. An arrow with a note attached, stuck out of one of the walls of the school. "It was instinct sorry" I said not really meaning it. I just saved their lives I wont  apologize for that.

"I guess the rouges are still pissed you killed that one rouge." Star said standing up and grabbing the arrow. She opened the note and her first look made her drop it. Her eyes held so much. Fear, sadness, angry, she turned around and ran back into the school without a word. Tears rolling down her face.

I got up but Isaac got to the note before me. He looked at it and pure rage filled his eyes. His face showing not a single fragment of his dazzling smile. "I'm taking this to the headmaster." He turned to walk away but I snatched the note from him before he could even get one step away.

It wasn't a note. It was a photo. The familiar living room set up sent shivers down my spine. But what really got to me, was my mom and dad laying in a pool of their own blood. "Emilia, do you...know them?" Isaac asked his eyes swimming with curiosity "know them? Ya... These are my parents..." I looked closer and saw they were holding hands. I felt tears roll down my face.
