chapter 14

"I still can't believe you, since when have you been so reckless and full of confidence?" Jasmine asked me as we eat our lunches. "I don't know, it just felt right. No man will ever claim me as his without that mate bond people tell me about." I took another bite of my sandwich.

"Well my alpha seemed impressed with your skill and power Emilia even at the starting of your full shift you are strong enough to be an alpha" star told me as she busted through our door. "Star your going to break that poor door" I told her throwing my paper plate away.

"I'm not that strong, goof ball, I definitely didn't already crack it tho" she said blushing and turning away. I just laughed "I'm glad your my room mate I would hate to be on your bad side" I got up and went to my room to study up some more on my shift.

It was about dinner time when I decided I was going for a run. I know with the rouge problem we shouldn't be out after dark but I needed to run. My fox wanted to run.

I walked to the living room as saw the girls watching some weird movie about wearing all pink on Wednesdays. "Girls I'm going for a run care to join me?" I asked and they looked up at me and then to each other "we're in!" They said at the same time.

As we all rounded the corner of the school building outside we stopped in our tracks. A few wolves lay dead on the ground and I could tell they where part of the school. They didn't smell like rotten flesh and they all had clean looking coats of gray and black fur.

"We need to get back to the dorms and let the head master know" star said "I'm not sure if this works but, Headmaster we need you around the back of the school we found some dead pack wolves." I thought, mind linking is one of my fox powers but I can link anyone from a human to any kind of shifter.

"Let's get out of here before we become like them, lunch." Star said we heard a low growl behind us and turned around. Standing there in the shadow of the building was a black wolf, a shadow wolf. Star rolled her eyes "alpha these are my dorm mates Jasmine and Emilia" he looked at Jasmine then to me and nodded his head.

"He said we can go for a run with him. It will be safer having a male in the group" star said "okay" I said.

We ran for a few hours in the tree line around the school. The sky was dark and cloud covered, the night was peaceful. Since I'm not a wolf I can't really link with them, I stayed farther back so they could get good air through their fur. I hadn't shifted yet so they were running a little farther in front of me then I really liked. Right before I was about to shift, I hit the ground on the side of the trail without a sound.

I looked up in fear and saw the gross yellow eyes of a rouge "you think you can get off just like that? No, you killed our leader. It's your turn now." He put his hands around my neck and started choking me. I clawed and kicked and tried making sounds but nothing helped. "Need to shift.." i thought to myself, that's when I heard three sets of paws running my direction.

"I need to keep them safe!" My mind screamed and that seemed to be all I needed, my purpose, to protect. I shifted without warning, faster then I had ever shifted before and tossed the shocked rouge to the side like a doll.  He hit a tree and went limp.

I walked out of the tree line I had been thrown into and saw that it wasn't my wolf's. It was three rouges. I was in a fucked up situation and had no help. What the hell do I do? I can't take on all these rouges alone. I thought fear starting to actually sink in, I had to fight to keep the school and the other kids safe.

Isaac's pov....

It had been a little over four months since my dad had forced me to come to this goddess forsaken school. All I wanted was to run the pack my way, make it better make it stronger. But dad had other plans and sent me here with my beta in waiting. My best friend star.

I had agreed to go on a run with her and her room mates. We were almost done with our run when a group of rouges jumped us. Of course I was trained in fighting but I knew star, Jasmine, and Emilia were all not. But I knew Emilia could hold her own, I looked behind us but she wasn't there. Her scent didn't even follow us. She had already been taken care of.

Two of the rouges fought the girls while I was stuck fighting a fucking tank. He was a huge ass rouge with an evil grin on his wolf face. He charged at me and I ran at him, we collided and rolled biting and clawing at each other. When we stopped rolling it came out with him on top of me and his teeth almost around my neck. I bit his paw, which he had on my shoulder.

He yelped and I took that as my chance and flung him off and into a tree. He didn't stand back up so I took that as he was knocked out. I looked over and saw the girls had beat the shit out of the other two, "star let's find Emilia her scent doesn't follow us I think she's in trouble" Jasmine followed us back the direction we came.

As we came closer to the area I think we lost her at I also smelled rouges, four to be exact. I saw three in the trail and I could smell one off to the side of the trail. Emilia walked out of the tree line covered in claw marks, her fur stained blood red and covered in dirt from rolling on the ground. She looked at the rouges and I thought I saw fear flash across her eyes, but it was replaced by determination and confidence. She growled and bared her teeth at them and they did the same. "We need to let her know she's not alone" star linked me.

We all growled at the same time making birds fly from their nests and everything seemed to stop for a second. Two of the wolves turned out way and looked at each other as to say "this was supposed to be easy" me being an alpha I took two steps closer and then they took off into the tree line away from the school.
