chapter 12

I was scared. And the more I walked the thicker the trees got. And no matter how many times I turned around it was always the same thing. I was stuck in the woods with only myself and my fox. I tried asking for help but she never replied. She was gone too. I didn't know what to do and I was starting to get cold the sun hadn't moved an inch since I got here but the temperature seemed to be dropping fast.

I wasn't sure what to do at this point "is anyone out there!" I yelled out, the echo bouncing around the trees. I felt so alone and that's what I feared the most was being alone.

The sky started going dark and I felt so much fear. When the sun finally set the cold bitter air blew my hair around my face and licked at my body. I decided to stop, this might of been a dream but all the walking was killing my legs. I thought I should of woken up by now.

I start pinching myself but that didn't work, so I did the most reasonable thing I could think of. I climbed a tree and jumped off. I climbed a good two or four feet up, not enough to hurt myself to bad but enough pain to wake me up.

It didn't work. I was stuck in my dream and that scares me worse then being alone. I needed to wake up I had classes today I didn't have time for my body to shutdown again. Just as the sun started rising, the trees began to thin, like they were vanishing into thin air.

Once the trees where all gone I was in a feild full of golden flowers. But the weird thing was, the moon was the only thing in the sky. I walked around until I heard talking. More like singing, it was a women who looked in her early twenties she had long black hair and she was in a white and gold dress.

"Hello?" I asked timidly "oh dear don't be shy, come join me" she said turning around to face me. Her face was perfect. She had no scars no black heads like me or acne. Her skin looked as white as the moon at night and her black hair made her bright blue eyes pop.

"Where am I?" I asked walking closer to her "you are in the dream world my love, I created it just so I could talk with my children" she smiled at me. "You are one of the more special ones" she walked closer and brushed my hair away from my face. "You haven't even started classes yet your so close with your fox and her powers".

She sounded impressed which made me feel good. "Wait, are you the moon goddess?" I looked her in the eyes and they seem to hold oceans.

"Why, how smart of you my love. Yes that is me. But something bad is going to happen and I need you to help me. One of my children has chosen the dark side. He no longer has any ties with me. It hurts to think my child would do this but he has. I need you to try and bring him back with the mate bond he has terrible ideas for the future of his kind and it will only lead him to fail" this didn't make any since to me.

"But why me? I'm just a fox shifter with no shifter experience" I told her looking at my feet. I was a normal girl, well, as normal as I could be. "You are his mate my love, I'm sorry to tell you I gave you him as your mate. You have the power to bring him back just by being yourself and moving up in classes. You my dear are going to be a strong and powerful Luna." The world around me started to fade away.

"Wait I have one last question!" I yelled as she too started vanishing "am I really the only one?" The last thing I saw was her shimmering smile.

I shot out of bed sweat soaking me and my bed. I looked at my phone, 4:50 A.M. I sighed and got up to grab some clothes so I could shower so I wouldn't smell like sweat my first day.

Around 4 hours later and 4 classes It was finally lunch time. Jasmine made me eat everything she did, which was two hamburgers with fries and a iced coffee which she bought for me before school started this morning.

My mind was filled with questions about my dream, well, when I wasn't retaining shifter history and lore. Why was this happening right now? I just wanted a good education is that so bad to q?

"Earth to Emilia.." Jasmine said waving a hand in my face. "What jazzy?" I asked taking a bite out of my last burger "I asked our soon to be beta friend over here if she really liked this fake ass meat." I looked at the burger in my hands and looked at Jasmine again. "Taste fine to me" I said and she just rolled her eyes at me "she'll eat anything that won't eat her" she said through fits of laughter.

I looked at my phone, it was two in the morning, one of those late night study sessions. I took a sip of my coffee and continued writing my eight page essay over my shift. There's not a lot about me or my damn shift! This was one of the most stupidest essays I've ever done.

Finally after I finished my essay I layed in bed wide awake. I couldn't sleep at all. I got out of bed and looked at my phone 4:30 A.M. I sighed and slipped on my running shoes Jasmine lended me and slipped on some running clothes.

Lots a students get up around this time for a run before classes start. I walked down the dim lit halls until I made it to the front doors of my dorm.
