chapter 10

My dorm was large in size, it had three bedrooms and a bath in each room with closets full of school jackets and clothes. I found my room with a copper red bed spread and blanket. The room smelled of lavender and rain and made me smile.

"You will start class Tomorrow I want you to study up on things I have left you books and I have even asked that jasmine be let out early to help you with your studying. I also have food on the way" she had her back to me, and was about to walk out of my room.

"Thanks for helping the guards out in hospital when even I could tell it was taking alot out of you. Try and rest up" she shut the door and I watched as she disappeared. I was left alone in my room, I looked around and felt exhausted.

I crawled in bed, I got back up and grabbed a book off my vanity table that sat in the far left corner of my room under a window. I sat in my bed and looked over the old looking book.

I opened it "the psychology of shifters" I rolled my eyes and got back up to pick a different book. I found one book that had a chapter about fox shifters and sat back in bed once more.

I flipped through the book and stopped on page 324. The page had a black outline of a fox on the first page and I smiled. I read through the chapter and in the middle of the book, a note fell out In to my lap.

I opened it and was in awe the note held such nice fancy handwriting. As I read the not I felt sad, "I am the only one left of my kind and my mate rejected me if you are like me and end up in this boat try and make it known that you will fight no matter what" I folded the note up and placed in in my nightstand.

I finished the chapter and was amazed so foxes can have powers, like the shadow wolves. I started the next chapter when I heard a door open and shut.

I got up and walked over to my door, I opened it to see Jasmine in the living room looking rather upset. "Jasmine!" I yelled and she jumped and turned to me "omg your okay! We all heard that even when you were hurt you fought off rouges from the hospital? You are stronger then they think!" She ran to me and I was wrapped in a deep hug.

"You have to meet our other room mate, shes a shadow wolf" she told me and I smiled at her "I'm sure we will all get along just fine!" I was excited to finally be out of a hospital bed and be where I belonged.

We heard a knock on the door and jasmine opened it, in walked a man with a tray of food, "I was told this was for Emilia" he said sitting it down on the table.

I smiled "thank you sir" I told him and he nodded his head and left without another word. I picked up the food and found chicken and noodle soup with basil on the top, it looked fancy.

I picked up the spoon and picked up some soup, I smelled it and it smelled really good but I could smell something off about it. "What's wrong should I taste it for you?" Jasmine asked. "No its fine" I lied and took a bite. My tongue started burning and it burned my throat all the way down.

I didnt make any face or sound to the burning sensation and continued to eat the soup. After about seven bites in the door opened and in walked a black haired girl with bright burning blue eyes. "Why does it smell like honey and garlic?" She asked walking over and plopping down next to me.

"Its this, it has a weird taste to it as well" I told her as I took another bite. "Let me see that, who brought you this?" She asked "the headmaster sent someone with it" she smelled the soup.

"Can I try it?" She asked "if soemthings wrong with it I dont want to get you sick or hurt" I told her and she laughed "I'm a shadow wolf my dear, I dont get sick and I've never been hurt before, from soup anyways" she took my spoon and took a sip.

"Wait, your a foxshifter! This has foxglove in it!" She yelled standing up and leaning over me. "I feel fine, just a slight burning sensation" I told her as I held my stomach. "We need to call the headmaster I bet she has no idea the fox glove was in there" jasmine said standing up as well.

"Oh, my names stardust but please call me star" her fire blue eyes sparkled with joy and I could almost read her like a book. "Ok star! Let's call the headmaster and see if she-" I was cut off by the headmasters voice.

"I already knew the fox glove was in there I put it there, but you feel fine, no?" She came out of nowhere and made jasmine and star jump. "Ya I feel fine, just a slight burning" I told her and she nodded her head.

"You almost died from foxglove, your body had such a high dose that you should be dead. But for some reason you lived, I'm suprised you didnt seem to have such power before when we first met but you have gained soemthing" she said.

I had no idea what she was talking about "it's me, she has no idea you've met me yet" my foxes voice echoed in my mind. "I guess dying gives you some type of power" I told her shrugging my shoulders.

"I'm sure that is true but even wolves who come in contact with wolfsbane end up weaker, you have gotten stronger. I want to know why that is" she said walking over to me. She took her hand and lifted up my chin and examined my face.
