STUDYING REALLY SUCKED,

sitting on one of those soft chairs that had wheels was fun, but doing actual work and taking notes for science? not so fun

sitting on one of those soft chairs that had wheels was fun, but doing actual work and taking notes for science? not so fun.

unfortunately, that was your predicament after having barely passed the last mock test in the subject. you were grounded, not allowed to go outside for the whole weekend, and the cherry on top? your parents had taken away your laptop and phone too.

your e/c eyes scan over the daunting words and confusing terms printed across the paper in neat rows of aligned text. all these fancy words for simple things made your brain blank and your head spin; science was obviously just a form of modern day torture and there was no doubt about it.

confused and tired, you flick through the messy notes you'd taken in the last two hours. there were barely five pages, and you'd delicately used unnecessary words and a bigger handwriting size to make them look legit. all in all — your weekend was looking like absolute shit, to say the least.

yawning, you stand up and wander over to the rectangular window on the side of your room, it overlooked the side of the street, and sometimes you liked to watch the different people pass by, all lost in their own worlds and problems. but right now you just felt jealous of the freedom they had and you didn't.

so you're quite surprised, to say the least, when you see a familiar bed head in the crowd of people. messy dark hair, it could be kuroo, right? as much as you'd never admit it to the boy, you really hope it is him. you could use some company right now, and he was always fun to be around.

only for the figure to get lost in the crowd and washed away by an incoming stream of people, you sigh and turn around, it was a long shot anyways. why would he even come to visit you? he probably has better things to do. you think as you perch back on the soft wheely chair and reach for your pen.

time to get some work done!

... or not.

your e/c eyes flutter open to a quiet knocking sound coming from the farther end of your room. you sit up and stretch whist glancing at the time, you've been out cold for a little over an hour, the realisation hits you and you groan, "looks like i fell asleep,"

you roll your eyes and stand up. "great job, y/n. 'cause sleeping will definitely raise your grades, dumb bitch." as you gradually begin to grow more aware of your surroundings, curiosity ( and maybe a teensy bit of anxiety ) overcomes you.

the knocking on the window seems to be some sort of rhythm. you subconsciously recognise it and hum along, should you open the window? what if it was some creep? or maybe you were being paranoid and it was a cat? or a raccoon?? but the tapping just seems too melodious to be an animal.

no, this is definitely a person. the real question is; who? who in their right mind would climb the walls, pipes and windows of a two storey house and try coming into your room?

confused, you rush to grab a wooden ruler from your pencil case as a weapon and decide to fling the window open, a gentle breeze softly kisses your s/c skin and you can't help but let amused laughter slip past your glossy lips when you realise who the person at the window was.

and you were right, it was definitely not someone in their right mind.

kuroo dusts his clothes off and shoots you a lazy grin, "what's up, idiot?" you point the ruler towards him and smirk, "what happened to the guy calling me 'his y/n'?" he scoffs and falls onto your bed, kicking his shoes off. "shut up, i didn't actually mean that." your smirk only widens and you lazily swing the ruler around in the air.

"this is the same person who keeps staring at me in class, right?" he nods, "staring cause i pity you, god must have really hated you, y/n." you click your tongue and fall onto the bed besides him, "deny it all you want, but you literally called me yours yesterday, loverboy."

"hey! i never said— okay, maybe i did. but in my defence," kuroo turns to you with an accusing gaze and an exaggerated pout, you giggle at his odd expression, "that sounds really weird without any context." you hum in agreement, "anyways, what are you even doing here? you know i'm grounded right?"

you aren't an idiot, the only reason you hadn't kicked the boy out the window was because your parents were currently too invested with watching a movie downstairs to check up on their daughter. kuroo shrugs, "well, i was bored. and i kinda missed your dumb face, so here i am." he says in a soft voice.

you raise an eyebrow, "damn, you missed me? who are you and what have you done with kuroo tetsurou?" the boy sarcastically laughs, "haha. very funny, y/n. so what if i missed you? you're my best friend." you punch his shoulder and smirk. "nah, you're some alien. the real kuroo would never say that. like, not in ten million billion gazillion years."

the boy says nothing for a while and the two of you lie there in a comfortable silence, you're just glad to be around someone despite being grounded, and he's glad to be around you again. how he was going to survive through an entire weekend of no y/n? he had no idea. what he did know was that he had you here with him now, and that's all that matters.

so without so much as a second thought, he props himself up and leans towards you, a mischievous glint in his golden eyes. "would the real kuroo do... this?!" he suddenly begins to attack you by tickling you, squeezing your eyes shut, you try getting him to stop as you writhe and squirm underneath him, tears of joy and bliss pricking your eyes as you laugh, breath being sucked right out of your lungs.

he spares you no mercy and even pins both of your arms above your head when you try pushing him away; so you resort to kicking him off you until he pulls both your legs over his shoulders, "you can't escape this, y/n!" the ringing of your harmonious laughter around the room and he soon joins in as the zephyr sneaks in through the open window.

later, the two of you collapse on your bed, exhausted by the tickle war. laughing and heaving as a sweaty, tangled mess of limbs and legs, simply relishing each others company, the soft breeze kissing skin with smiles painted on youthful lips and admiration etched into eyes of gold.

life is made of small moments like these, and he's glad he gets to share them with you.
