one year later...
"i'm late," onyx said as she remembered some important information.
"you're what?" charlie's eyes went wide. "what if you're pregnant."
onyx felt her heart beat pick up. ezekiel was sound asleep on her chest. he didn't normally cuddle with her, but he was so tired after a long day of opening presents.
eloise and ezekiel turned two a few days before, today being their birthday party. "maybe we should see," charlie said.
"can you go to the store and get a test?" charlie gladly agreed and headed out the door to the drug store. zeke stirred awake, looking up at his mom.
"hi, buddy. did you have a good nap?" the little boy smiled widely at his mom. eloise was sleeping on the other end of the couch near where charlie had just been sitting.
"where's dada?"
"he went to the store. he'll be home soon."
zeke sat still on his mom's lap, still sleepy. "does mama have a baby in her tummy, zekey? are you and eloise gonna have a little sister or brother?" the boy laughed, nodding his head. "really? there's a baby in mama's tummy?"
"baby," zeke said, pointing at his mother's stomach.
charlie stepped through the door. eloise was still asleep on the couch, zeke sitting next to her watching cartoons. charlie handed the bag to onyx and she got up, making her way to the bathroom.
she waiting a few minutes before flipping the test over. positive. "charlie," onyx shouted. she had tears in her eyes. "babe, come here." she heard charlie's footsteps on the hardwood floor. she unlocked the bathroom door, opening it. beaming up at the man, she showed him the positive test.
"no way," he chuckled. "oh my god. you're pregnant. babe, we're gonna have another baby." onyx hugged her husband, tears falling down her face.
two weeks later...
"mom, do you like the twins new shirts?" onyx giggled as her mother read the shirts that read "big sister" and "big brother".
"are you pregnant?" onyx nodded her head yes. "no freaking way. is this a joke?"
"nope," charlie added. "we're really having another baby."
"wow," onyx's father said. "wow. congratulations."
"thank you."

charlie was unable to suppress his smile. "what's so funny?" mr gillespie asked his son.
"read the twins shirts." charlie's parents both read their shirts together, both gasping.
"really? you're pregnant?" mrs gillespie asked onyx, who shook her head as she giggled.
"that's amazing. i'm happy for you guys," charlie's father said.
