Britney's one eye peered open and the first thing that hit her was an awful scent of piss and faeces. It was also accompanied by the mouldy scent, that damp, closed rooms had. When she dared to open the next eye a headache lightened through the crown of her head. It felt like she was hit by a fast-moving train. Her eyelids felt too heavy and she had to work hard to keep them open.

When she tried to twist her body to get up from her laying position, she realized that she was inside some sort of cage. She started shaking the metal bars frantically. She was caged-up, like a feral animal and shaking was not going to make a difference. She could see a huge padlock dangling from the door outside. She slumped her forehead against the rusty bars.

"Britney." She heard someone croaked.

When she looked up to her immediate right in the darkness, there were more cages. It looked like three of them had someone in there. She noticed someone was stretching out their hands through the spaces in their cage, whimpering and sniffling. She started rattling the cage again and screaming.

"Britney, I'm scared are they going to kill us?" The voice asked and Britney realized that it was Narumba.

Britney was about to respond to reassure her, that they were going to be fine. When a set of footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs, they paused and the person flicked on the lights without warning. Britney used her hand to block out some of the harsh light rays. While her eyes adjusted to the sudden change, from darkness to blinding light.

She groaned while she moved her hand away from her face. She was then greeted with the smiling face of Courtney, holding a baseball bat. It hit her, quite literally, that she saw Courtney at the foot of the stairs and she was the one that had hit her in the head and made her unconscious.

"Please Courtney, you don't have to do this." Britney pleaded to her through the prison bars. "Your making a mistake is what you're doing."

"Well, well, well, I hope you're enjoying your cage, just like the rat you are." Damian sneered walking from behind Courtney, a big plaster covering the wound Britney created with the glass. He looked like the devil in human form.

"Courtney don't let him poison your thoughts. He is bad you know he is. He doesn't care about you. You can still do the right thing." Britney pleaded.

"Do the right thing you said. I'm GOING TO GIVE YOU A PIECE OF YOUR OWN BITTER MEDICINE AND I'm going to crush you under my boot like the cockroach you are." Damian said kicking the cage, causing  Britney's entire body to jerk.

"You're never going to get away with this, you bastard you're going to pay." Britney spat.

"Just like I got away with killing those nine girls and your pathetic father? Oh no, I'm sorry condolences to your foolish detective of a father. He deserved what he got and I will enjoy doing the same to you." Damian said scouting down to get eye to eye with Britney.

"He was snooping around here and I snapped his neck," Damian said laughing now. " That was the reason you came here right, to avenge your old man's death and make right what was wrong by putting me behind bars?"

"You had these women standing by you and your suicidal quest for revenge. I bet you did not tell them what you came here to really do. You weren't interested in helping them to escape or become free, you were doing this for your own personal pain." Damian said.

What Damian said resonated strongly with Britney but he was using this knowledge to try and turn them against him. Her initial mission was to sabotage the person who killed her father and get justice but her perspective changed over time spending those last few months with the girls. She realized that this mission was her purpose along with dismantling the organization and putting Damian behind bars. Damian moved away from Britney's cage and made his way to the one on the far left that currently housed a defiant-looking Amanda.

"I know you have been running around with her, for the last few weeks. Did she ever stop to tell you about her father?"

"Don't listen to him Amanda he's trying to turn you against me, he hates that your fighting him. I didn't tell you about my father because it wasn't necessary. After all, after I got to know you guys, I knew I had to help you." Britney shouted across the room.

She didn't know what Damian was planning to do to them just to get to her and it was imperative. She set everything straight.

"You see that Amanda, she didn't think it was necessary to tell you the truth. She is nothing but a liar and she was using you guys to get to me." Damian said reaching his hand to touch Amanda through the bars. She batted his hand away and he pulled it out and started to shake it in frustration.

"I'm surprised your still so stubborn when your locked in a cage and are about to die like an animal," Damian said.

"You're a monster!" Amanda screamed her voice cracking. I wang to make sure you pay for all those women's lives that you destroyed even if that's the last thing I do, you horrible son of a bitch." She said and spat at him through the spaces.

"What did you just do bitch? I was going to spear you if you admitted to being a fool coming after me but I see now that now that I won't be getting an apology. I'm going to demonstrate to you what a monster really looks like."

Britney watched in what seemed to be slow motion as Damian reached into the waist of his jeans and pulled out a gun and raised it towards Amanda.

"NOOOOO!" She screamed horrified as the bullet was released from the barrel and the sound of the bullet making an impact on the metal bars of the cage rang out in a sickening pop sound. Britney's entire body went cold and she heard as a second bullet whistled through the air and this time it was not as loud as first, as it hadn't missed and hit a metal bar but instead, a shrill cry and scream bellowed from Amanda's throat. For the second time tonight, goosebumps crawled up Britney's skin.
