"You promised that you wouldn't hurt them, you said you just wanted to rough them up." Courtney cried looking at Damian with those despicable, puppy dog eyes of hers.
Damian pushed her out of his way and the bat she was holding, fell to the ground. He knew she was a little slow but never fathomed how slow, for that matter. He did say he would only rough them up but he didn't mean a scolding and he neglectfully thought, they were on the same page.
The one person that understood him, when he spoke his morse codes and knew what it meant when he said different things was now sitting in a rusty cage, holding her gushing thigh. It was all her fault and he hoped she realized that.
"You shot me in my leg, you shot me in my leg." Amanda began to shout disheveled and shocked.
Courtney's face had mirrored the same look but just stupider and clueless, while Amanda's was filled with horror and shock. Damian made his way back to the cage of the person, that allowed all of this mayhem to be happening in the first place.
"You shot her, why did you do that?" Britney asked tears rolling down her face.
"Don't worry, she's going to be just fine, only if you cooperate though. I want you to promise to leave this place and never return." Damian said." Just that and you would be able to save these women and as a bonus, walk away with your pathetic, miserable life. Do we have a deal?"
Damian believed he was being more than graceful about the situation, by not killing Amanda but he wasn't about to let Britney go, scot-free. That would be a fatal mistake. She knew where they lived, where their business site was and other personal information, that would surely put him away, for life. She would want to take the deal, Damian surmised because she recognized that they were cornered and there was no escaping. Otherwise, he was going to kill them off one by one, in front of her eyes, and then kill her last. Then all of her planning would be for a total waste.
"This offer as an expiration date you know. You have only five minutes no actually five seconds. 5,4,3,2..."
"Okay, I will go and not come back or seek you out. I'm going to go back home to Jamaica, just please don't hurt anyone else." She said her voice small.
"Good decision."
Damian retrieved the key chain bab with one, silver key, that opened all the locks. He was going to open the door and while she turned her back towards him and started to walk to the stairs, he would have the advantage he needed.
He stooped down to access the lock to open it and saw Courtney at the corner of his eye. She was looking at him with a questioning, look on her face.
"Don't do it, Britney, he's a lousy snake!" Sasukra shouted to the far left.
"Shut the fuck up, or I will shut you up forever." He said threatening her. He twisted the key and it clicks open. He got up with the door still pushed in closed.
"Are you going to take forever to get out?"
Britney pushed the metal door out and crawled out of the cage on her hands and feet. When she stood up she brushed off her clothes and looked at Damian, with weary eyes swimming in tears. She started to walk slowly first and then started getting brisker towards the steps of the basement.
Damian pulled out his gun from his waist of his jeans, for the second time. He pointed the gun at her back and it happened so fast, suddenly he heard a shrill scream from one of the cages. He missed his shot, the bullet just nipped her shoulder.
He saw her hand go instinctively to her arm but she did not stop or falter, instead, she started running faster. He walked towards to get a good shot when he heard the swish of something swinging beside his ears. He ducked and then turned around and saw Courtney behind him holding the bat.
She swung it wildly again and this time, he caught it in his hand effortlessly. He turned around again and saw that Britney had escaped through the door. Courtney was still holding on to the bat, holding on for dear life. He raised the gun to her forehead squarely between her clueless, eyes showing her that he was willing to pull the trigger.
She loosened her grip and he swung the bat and hit her across the head. Not enough to crack her skull open but to make her unconscious for a few minutes, or an hour tops. By then everything would be done. He walked briskly towards the stairs, taking a glance at Amanda and the other girls in their cages. They were peering after his retreating figure. He ran up the stairs intent on catching that bitch and shooting her in the head. He was done playing silly games with her. He was going to deal with this as quickly as possible. Once he was done with her he would go down to the basement to deal with the rest.
He knew this house more than, she does and that was going to be his advantage. He went through the small concealed door and made his way through the kitchen but not before looking behind that cabinet and the fridge. No sign of the brat yet. He looked behind the sofa almost sure, she wouldn't make the same mistake but wanting to check off all boxes the obvious hiding places.
He ventured now into the foyer area. He looked under the space of the stairs and there was still no sign of her. He trudged up the stairs and felt like a mighty hunter trying to catch a bore. The feeling was exhilarating. The roles were reversed when he became an adult. He was the one now that was inflicting pain and taunting people.
He's even grateful she ran. It makes killing her all the more fun. He was so happy he felt the insane urge to jump in the air and hit his heels together. That's all he dreamed about since he was a child; to have the upper hand. The money that resulted from this business, was just a bonus and a good bonus, if he was being truthful.
He arrived at the top of the stairs now. He decided he would go into the room, which she shared with Courtney first thing. He twisted the doorknob and went inside. The room was pitch dark, he flipped the switch and the fluorescent light flooded the space. He began looking under both beds, in their closet, and the bathroom. When he came out, he heard shuffling outside the room opposite, this one, and smiled to himself.
