"Let your faith be bigger than your fear."

"Hey ma." I heard Jax's voice from Gemma's phone. She had already explained the situation behind him, his ex wife Wendy, and her pregnancy.

"Hi baby, have you gone and looked through the storage container? There's probably a bunch of baby stuff in there, take what you want." Gemma was straight to the point, while she hated Wendy with a passion, she was happy to have a grandbaby on the way.

"Not yet, I'll try and make it out there today. Hey, have you heard from my crazy ex wife? I've been trying to call her because I haven't seen a damn bill from the doctors yet and she won't answer the phone."

"That's because she knows it's you." Gemma joked before asking me if I could swing by there.

"Yeah that's fine, I don't have anything else to do." I replied, focusing on the directions that she gave me.

"This place would be cute if it were cleaned up a bit." I told Gemma as I parked in the driveway.

"Yeah, too bad the junkie bitch trashed it." She ranted, mostly to herself.

"Wendy! It's Gemma, open up." She pounded on the door a few times.

"I'll go through the garage." I told Gemma, who nodded, telling me to do so. I wasn't prepared to see Wendy passed out on the kitchen floor with blood pooling around her. I let out a string of curse words when I found the door to be locked and used my elbow to bust the glass, so I could unlock the door.

"Call an ambulance!" I yelled to Gemma, checking to see if Wendy had a pulse. I let out a relieved sigh when I felt a faint one. "I'll ride with her, you take my car and go get Jax." I continued. Gemma nodded, taking my keys and taking off.

I was sitting in the waiting room, completely clueless as to what was happening because I wasn't immediate family.

"Elle, what's going on?" Jax asked, out of breath, meaning he probably ran in from the parking lot.

"I don't know, they won't tell me crap." I sneered, looking over at a nurse. Jax went over to the main desk, demanding to know what was going on with his ex wife and son.

"Jax." Tara Knowles, his ex high school girlfriend, called his name. Tara led Jax to Wendy's room and explained Wendy's condition.

"What about my son?" Panic was clear in Jax's voice. Gemma and I both moved closer to him when Tara began to speak.

"He was born 10 weeks premature. He's got a hole in his stomach and he has CHD." Tara spoke softly. "Being born early and the hole in his stomach were because of the drugs, but the CHD is genetic." She continued.

"The family flaw." Gemma spoke up, a grim look on her face. Tara nodded as a sad look flashed across her face.

"The hole in the stomach and the CHD aren't usually deadly separately, but together, Dr. Namid gives him a 20% chance. He wants to repair his stomach and then if he's stable, he wants to repair his heart." Tara explained. "If you follow me, I'll take you to see him." She continued. Jax got close to Tara, saying something to her before taking off.

"Jax!" Gemma called out, getting ready to follow him.

"Go with Tara." Jax said, anger his main expression. Clay quietly told Bobby and Chibs to follow him. Gemma quickly followed Tara, leaving Clay and I in the waiting room. I ran my hand over my face tiredly.

"What the hell did you do to your elbow?" Clay asked, sitting in the stiff chair.

"I had to break the glass to unlock the door at Wendy's." I explained, telling him that I was going to try and get it to stop bleeding.

I was staying another night at the clubhouse, even though I had gotten the call saying the paperwork went through for the house.

"Hey lass." Chibs knocked on my door as I finished putting on my pajamas.

"Hey Chibs, come in." I answered, letting him in.

"Clay said ya cut your elbow up pretty bad today, wanted to make sure that ya cleaned it up good." He explained himself, his eyes locking in on the bandage wrapped around my elbow.

"Oh it's alright. I managed to get all of the glass out and stop the bleeding. I'm not a professional, but I think it'll be fine." I let out a small laugh.

"Aye, just wanted ta make sure ya were alrigh' I'll let ya sleep than." He rubbed the back of his neck, giving me a shy smile.

"Night Chibs." I said, softly. He nodded, awkwardly turning around and walking away. I let out a breath that I didn't realize I'd been holding as I shut the door behind me.
