"As in the god?" Hunter asks. He nods.
"Oh my gods, so he's real," Hunter says. Lucy and the others were in shock. Lucian knew too though. He just didn't say anything. He had that 'I knew' look on his face. Sarah and Luna was talking amongst themselves. It was odd but I liked it. They knew I was friends with a god!! And I liked that. Not the attention but the supreme feeling I got. Being friends with a god was the highest of scores.
"Wait, Artemis is a wolf," Lucy asked. Artemis puts his head down.
"I can take any form, but I like wolves and they are normal out here, not easy to spot, however, Phoenix followed me and I had to show her my true form, since the moon prophecies are about her."
"Okay, I understand the moon god had to tell Phoenix about the prophecies but isn't against the gods to show your true form," Ashton asked. He put his head down.
"Once it was, but the gods are constantly changing the laws, now it isn't against them, I just showed her my true form because it was her right to know," he spoke.
I looked at Hunter. He was studying him. He couldn't believe he was in the presence of a god. The god that wrote the prophecies about me, and the moons. The original one who knew my destinies.
"So, are we allowed to see your true form?" Lucy asked. Ashton hushed her. He was really respectful to this god. He was powerful. Not to mention, he could cause darkness for days.
"I could show you yes, but, only if you promise to stop bowing and calling me 'your holiness' when you see me," he said. I chuckled. He didn't want formalities. Titles aren't important to him.
"Okay, I apologize for my over enthusiasm, I will stop," Ashton said. Hunter kept an eye on him. He must not have trusted him.
A few seconds passed and Artemis began changing again. I had already seen it so it wasn't anything new to me. But once the change was done and he was human again, there were gasps from all the ladies. Figured. Ladies always like men with long hair and chiseled faces. Hunters eyes go wide. Ashton is in awe, Lucian is not surprised. Being an angel he probably knew what he looked like.
"Wow, you have to come back to the academy with us," Ashton said. He was doing it again. Gushing like a fan girl.
"Academy?"
"It's a school for all creatures, and hybrids much like myself, there are classes and people who teach those classes, you could actually do us all a great deal by teaching Ancient Greek and gods!" I said. He looked around to the others. Hunter didn't like him I could tell.
"Phoenix, I understand how school works, but are you sure I could be of any use," he asked. I nodded.
"And will you be taking this class as well," he asked.
"If Ashton allows you to teach it, yes," I said. I could see hunters glares from where I was standing.
"I would love to have a class taught by you," Ashton said. He sighed and looked at me.
"Okay, I will teach, but I would like for Phoenix, to be my adversary," he said. I halfway opened my mouth in shock.
"You want me to be you assistant?"
"Yes, I do, you may be a student, but you are very smart, and I think you would learn better by being a second to me, one on one and in a room full of other students, you would need to learn more seeing as how the moon prophecies are about you," he said. I looked at Ashton and he shrugged. He didn't care. Hunter was hanging his head and rubbing between his eyes. Lord he's jealous.
"Okay, I'll assist you," I said. He nodded and looked around. Ashton placed his hands together and put them against his lips to say thank you.
Once it calmed down, we all headed back to our shacks. Artemis said he wanted to stay outside and enjoy the ocean. He rarely slept anyway. Lucy and I sat on our shared bed. She watched me for a few minutes. She smiled and then I got a little curious as to why she was smiling at me. It was really unusual.
"What," I asked. She shrugged. I rolled me eyes.
"So, had Hunter said anything to you," she asked. I shook my head.
"Honestly, he's new to this whole human thing, he came here to find himself. And if I were you I wouldn't wait around for him, I mean he obviously doesn't know what he wants," Lucy said. She made sense. He hadn't said anything about us. He hadn't kissed me, he had really done anything. He was her brother and she would know.
"Lucy, was Hunter always so pigheaded," I asked. She sighed and laid down on the bed. I went to the window.
"Honestly, yes, when he don't know why he wants he does this, runs off, trying to find himself and figure out what he wants, but if he didn't choose you the moment he changed back, then I'm afraid that he may not," she said. I nodded.
"Yeah, he was better in wolf down, at least he knew what he wanted, to be human," I said. She laughed. I looked outside. I could see Artemis walking along the beach his hands in his pockets. He looked lonely but he wanted it that way.
"Look, I wouldn't give up on him just yet but I wouldn't wait around for him either," Lucy said. She was meaning for me to find someone else for now. But I didn't want to be with someone just because Hunter hadn't made up his mind. That was wrong of me. Someone would wonder if I was in because Hunter left me in the cold or if I really did want them.
"I just, I think you'll be happier not waiting for someone who constantly runs from his problems," she said. I nodded and joined her. The queen bed made plenty of room for us.
"Besides that God out there is so fine," she laughed.
"He's a god and I'm not, last I heard, God relations were against the laws," I said.
"Phe, I hate to say this, but he's a god who helped write the laws, he can change them too."
"I can't ask him to do that I just met him, and besides that, we will be here for two weeks, what if he decides he wants to stay here," I said.
"He won't, trust me."
"How are you so sure Luce," I asked.
"Because of the way he looked at you."
