I turned to see who had screamed my name. When I looked I didn't like what I seen. Standing in the door of the entrance with his arms crossed, Colby. Great. This was all I needed. He hurt me by sleeping with Kiera a few months ago. Maybe it was almost a year ago but it still hurt me. He played me like a violin. And his slick back hair just made me quiver worse. He was handsome in a devilish way.
"When were you going to tell me you connected with a wolf, demon," he asked walking closer. Kiera stood up but didn't move. She was making sure I didn't do anything to her "guy."
"Well I-uh- I didn't know you were back, when you left you were pretty upset," I said. I didn't know how to talk to him. After everything that happened it was difficult.
"Yes well, I'm with Kiera now, and I care for her, but that doesn't mean I do t care about you, I always have, but I would like to hear the latest with you," he said. Lucy cleared her throat and excused herself.
"Well believe what you may, what you do, isn't my business, so if you'll excuse me," I said turning. He grabbed my arm. I turned to him. But in the door I seen Hunter and Ashton coming in. Hunter met my eye.
"Let me go, Colby," I said. He looked at me with a grin. Demons. I hated them. So manipulating. Hunter was only part demon. Hunter noticed the emotions running through my face. I had a black tshirt that showed his firm muscles. And a pair or brown shorts. His hair was pulled back in a bun. He came closer.
"Nix, hey, who is this dude," he asked. Colby let me go.
"You must be the half mix, I'm Colby, demon overlord," Colby says. Hunter chuckles to him but doesn't shake his hand.
"Hunter, Hunter Black, I'm Lucy's brother and Phoenix is my very close friend, like super close," he says 'ouch.' I was just a friend? So the whole time we've been on dates and I helped him transform he just, doesn't care about that. Colby notices the words and my face.
"Friend huh, well then, if you don't mind, I'd like to steal your friend for a moment," he said. Hunter stepped in front of me. By this time all the wolves in the cafeteria(only three) had noticed his alpha motives. They transformed into fur balls and stood along side him. Colby looked at me.
"You are a vampire, and a witch, not a wolf, or demon, you'd learn not to pretend, seems I underestimated you though," he said. I didn't flinch.
"How's that?"
"Please Phoenix, I know you, I know you're only hoping for something real, something true, not a fake relationship and a guy who can't even call you his girl, but only calls you a friend, and after saving him no less," he says. Hunter starts getting confused. He turns to me. By this time everyone is staring at us.
"What does he mean Nix, I thought we were taking it slow," he asked. I sighed. I looked at Colby.
"Slow? Hunter, it's been almost three weeks we've been on dates. We've been with each other for months, and I thought you and I had something real, and special," I said. I looked down and back up. He looked curious and sad.
"I just, I really care for you and I thought you did me, so if we really care about each other that much, why aren't we together? Colby is right, I hope for that but who am I fooling?"
I looked at Colby. He shrugged. Hunter was speechless. He didn't know what to say. I basically told him he was going to slow. I know he's getting use to being human after years of being stuck, but I just needed him to want to be with me.
"Hunter, I'm not going to wait around for you, if you don't even know what it is you want, you need freedom to explore, and learn, and I can't be in your way, nor can I wait forever. Because you'll never change unless you see the problem."
"What's the problem Nix, we agreed to date but not be official until we are comfortable and I'm back to my normal self, I don't even know what that is, it's been so long since I've been human, I forgot who I truly am," he said. I knew that. But he didn't need to take so long.
"Hunter, the problem isn't you and me, it's your opportunity, to explore and find you, that's what you need, and I think you need to go with Lucy on spring break," I said. He looked at me confused.
"Go to the island of the lost, and find who you are and what you want." I said. He looked at Lucy, who decided to join him. Colby looked at Kiera. She looked mad.
"I hate to cut this short, I have to go, but she's right man, she deserves more than a confused and lost soul, find yourself if not for you, for her," Colby said. He walked over to Kiera.
"So Hunter, will you go?" Lucy asked. He looked at me. I nodded.
"If you think it will help, I'll go, but only if Phoenix goes and promises to at least wait until things are figured out," he said. I looked at Lucy she nodded.
"Fine, but don't hover me, find yourself, and I'll find myself too."
I wanted to hug him, but I knew how he felt in that moment. He needed to find what it was he wanted. Not just rely on others to tell him what he needed or wanted. I realized that he might have just been lost and needed a way back but he was dragging me with him. And I didn't like it. It was to much. And I couldn't be drug down with him. He knew that. He didn't want that either. Ashton came inside and stood beside Lucy.
"I've decided, I'm extending spring break, it will be two weeks, that should give both of you time to figure things out."
