Chapter 29

Anikas pov:

Three months later.

Today is graduation day. The day we are officially leaving school. Today is also the day I'm going to tell the guys everything including that Chris, and I are leaving for good tomorrow.

"Sam, hurry up! You've been fixing your hair for nearly an hour now; you already look perfect, baby." Scarlett said, grabbing him.

"I can't get this one hair to stick down it's doing my bloody head in," Sam complained. I grabbed my eco hair gell and helped him with his hair.

"Guys I need to speak with you before we leave," I said, pointing at the bed for them to sit down.

"What is it, are you ok?" Scarlett asked, concerned.

"It all started when I was born; Mum and Dad didn't know that there was something wrong with me until I was five years old. They didn't mind taking care of me when i was a baby because that's what parents are supposed to do, but when I got older, they realised that they would always have to take care of me and that's when it started, the abuse. It was only verbal abuse, to begin with, my mum would tell me to die and that she should have had an abortion when she had the chance. Around seven-eight years old the physical abuse started my parents would hit and slap my legs until they left bruises. They knew not to hit my face in case somebody saw. They were smart. I would come to school torn, but I would come to school with a smile because i didn't want you guys knowing, and that's when Christian first joined the school. He saved me without knowing, and so when he left, it broke me. The abuse started getting worse every day, and I didn't want to live any longer, so i began to self-harm. Fast forward to a couple of years later, I was starving myself cutting and getting abused I was all alone even though i had you guys then a miracle happened. Christian came back to school, and well, he saved me. He stopped me cutting, and he was the first and only person I had opened up to. We both tried so hard to ignore our feelings, but they only got stronger. When I told you guys that I had food poisoning, I lied, my parents found out about Chris and beat me up so badly that I nearly died. They weren't going to turn him in because of their reputation, so instead, we had to break up. God, we tried so badly to stay away from each other, but I love him too much to let him be the one that got away, so we are going to leave," I said in tears breaking down.

"Wow, I don't know what to say," Scarlett said speechless.

"How could you not tell us? You can't leave when things get tough." Sam yelled in my face slamming the door and leaving.

"I'm sorry for not telling you guys, but I just couldn't put you in danger," I cried to Scar.

"He'll come around; I'm sorry he yelled it's just he cares for you and is upset that this has been happening without him knowing. Anyway, we need to tell you something. Sam get your butt in here now!!" Scar screamed at him.

"I'm sorry for shouting at you; it's just if you told me i could have helped you," Sam apologised.

"So Scarlett and I have a gift for you," he said, getting the present from under the bed.

"I hope you love it," Scarlett said, biting her nails nervously.

I opened the box careful not to damage what's inside. What i saw inside made me nearly faint from excitement. There's a card and a jumper that says auntie to be.

"Holy fuck you're pregnant!!" I yelled, chucking the stuff on the bed and hugging them both.

"Yup, I'm going to be a dad," Sam chuckled.

"I'm three months along, so I'm only in my first trimester, but i wanted to tell you now since we're all sharing secrets," she said, Sam putting his hands on her tiny bump.

Oh my God, I'm going to be an Auntie!!

"We found out the gender already we were going to tell you next week, but since you're leaving we might as well tell you now, we are having... A boy!!" Scar screamed.

"Holy shit, congratulations guys," I said hugging them.

"I can't believe you're leaving us, I'm going to miss you so much it's not going to be the same anymore without you, but i get why you're doing it," Sam said sadly.

After we spoke everything out and a lot of tears, we left for graduation.

"So, class of 2010, before you guys receive your diplomas, I would like one the students to speak." The headteacher spoke clapping.

Here goes nothing. I looked around panicking, but I felt reassured as soon as my eyes landed on Chris.

"Where do i start? I joined this school when i was only two years old. I joined the nursery, which makes me the oldest and longest student in this school. I joined this school, not knowing that i was going to make a family because that's what you guys are. The teachers at this school were basically like our parents guiding us when we needed it and told us off when we were wrong. All the students were like cousins, we might not have always got along, and bickered like cats and dogs, but in the end, we all loved each other. The endless amount of work and stress paid off because look at where we are now. I just want to say thank you to everyone here for making my school experience an experience I'll never forget. Everything is about to change new environments new people and new routine, I hope you are ready for this because I know I'm not ready to grow up." I finished my speech which made everyone chuckle.

I made my way to Scar and Sam with a huge smile on our face.

"I guess there's nothing else to say, but you guys are officially high school graduates congratulations!!" One of the teachers spoke.

Sam Scarlett and I linked hands and in sync threw our caps in the air with the others.

"We did it we actually survived school," I said with excitement on my face.

"Miss Ahmed, could I speak with you quickly?" The headteacher asked, taking me to the corner.

"What's up?" I asked him, giving him my full attention

Before I could tell the guys where i was going, they were gone.

Hmm, where'd they go?

"I just wanted to say congratulations. I've watched you grow up into this independent woman, and I'm so proud of you. From having surgery after surgery and many hospital visits at such a young age, I'm glad you didn't give up. You are always welcome to come back and visit whenever you want; you'll be missed dearly. Before you leave could you do me a favour and follow the petals outside of the doors? Congrats again," he said.

Before I could thank him, he had disappeared. That's strange where has everyone gone?

I slowly followed the petals as he said. As the petals started gradually stopping a mixture of anxiety and nerves started building up in my stomach. The trail of petals came to an abrupt end, so i looked up to see I'm outside of Chris's classroom. I calmed my breathing down and opened the closed door.

End of chapter.

A/N: I'll be continuing this on part two.
